Had it at the brewery. Good color and it gave a good head. Roasted malt and cocoa flavors were evident on both the nose and on the tongue. My local Pizzeria has begun carrying it in bottle. I've bought a few since I remember I did enjoy it but I haven't cracked one open yet.

On-tap at Packinghouse
A: The pour is dark brown in color with a thin tan head and minimal lacing.
S: Coffee and roasted malts, a lot of roasted malts, with a hint of vanilla and lactose. Dark chocolate is there as is some toffee to provide what sweetness there is.
T: Like with the nose, the flavor is quite heavy on the roasted malts. Intense coffee with lots of bitter, dark chocolate flavor. Mild vanilla, toffee, and milk sugar coming through to provide sweetness.
M: Somewhat light in body with a moderate, but creamy, carbonation and mouthfeel.
O: Far too roasty without much emphasis on the sweetness you normally get from a milk stout.

According to the BJCP Style guidelines, the appearance of the beer is right on. Nearly opaque, with a brownish head, like one of them free range eggs, that sticks around for a bit.
The aroma is not overpowering; smells lightly of iced coffee with cream and chocolate.
The finish has just a hint of bitterness from hops and roasted malt; I got a little dried fruit/raisin at one point.
The style guidelines do not say that the style has to emphasize a lot of milk sweetness or even use lactose (if they did use lactose, it didn't come out clearly to me); however, I feel like the beer ends up in a bit of a middle ground that leaves me wanting it to edge either one way or the other to get more body.

On tap at Packinghouse Brewing Company in Riverside, CA.
The board listed this batch at 5.10% ABV.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. A foamy latticework of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, and lactose. Taste is much the same with cocoa and vanilla flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.

Sampled 4/2/2011 at the brewery.
Pours dark brown, bordering on black with beige head, good lace and retention.
Aroma is too roasty but otherwise nice with chocolate and milk showing.
Flavor is again too roasty with some milk and chocolate but also some caramel and sweetness.
Body is light and drinkable.
