A: Golden colored brew poured into pint glass produces a short-lived white head that has good retention and leaves moderate amount of lace.
S: Not much nose. Hint of vanilla with grain.
T: Grain, no cream. A little vanilla but it is there if you really try. Bitter, slightly tart finish that lingers for a bit.
M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Disappointing and a bit of a misnomer. Lacked in vanilla or cream. I would not seek this one out again.

Light golden color with no head. The aroma is a combination of vanilla and creamy malts that give it a strange, skunky sweet smell. There is a very light hint of vanilla and some light bitterness, but overall very little flavor. This is a shame because I tend to love vanilla, but so far no luck in a beer.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short but dense off white head that has very good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Light aromas of biscuit malts are present in the nose along with faint bits of vanilla.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has light flavors of biscuity malts along with hints of vanilla.
M: It feels light-bodied and a bit creamy and watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but isn't overly flavorful and seems a bit thin on the mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle pours a mostly clear gold color with a frothy white head. Nice retention and leaves a sheet of foam all around the glass. An impressive looking beer at least.

Nose is honeyed grains, with a hint of vanilla. Pretty standard Cream Ale aromas and is a little on the sweeter side than average. Im surprised the vanilla does not make more of a presence.

Taste is right in line with most cream ales I have had - the malts are light and grainy at best. There is something about cream ales that give it a unique taste - apart from blonde ales...they seem a little sweeter with a fuller body. The vanilla is pleasant, if a little on the light side. It a fairly well done beer, but being a little better than average in a rather uninspiring style category isnt going to garner the highest rankings unfortunately. I would drink this again for sure and if I was looking for a tasty, light-ish beer - this would do nicely.

Pours a clear piss yellow like cream soda. Two finger, VERY foamy, white head with low retention and some lacing.

Not much on the smell. A very small hint of vanilla on the nose. Other than that it smells like any other cheap beer you'd buy at a gas station. It's pretty repulsing, actually.

Taste is watery. Not really picking up any vanilla. Slightly bitter and not much going on for it. I don't understand the "vanilla ale" name at all.

Mouthfeel is very carbonated. Watery. Again, nothing special.

For this to be a "vanilla ale" it tastes just like any cheap beer you'd buy. Definitely wouldn't seek out/buy again. Only tasted because a buddy had some. If you like cheap beer I guess this is okay. The name is pretty deceiving for what it is.

12 oz.

Pours a golden orange with a little bit of white lace for a head, dissipates away to nothing.

Mildly biscuity malt aroma with some citrusy hop and a noted vanilla character.

Mild vanilla flavor with some citrus and floral hop and bready malts.

Medium to light body with soft carbonation.

Not too bad actually, very light with minimal impact, but highly sessionable and unoffensive. Good thirst-quencher.

Decent clarity. Pale orange-gold. Small head lipped up to a quarter-inch or maybe half. Doesn't really want to lace.

Stale and pale are the cereal grains with orange-y hops on the light and a familiar vanilla aroma that borders on artificial. Cream soda like, for sure. Just a little muted.

Artificial vanilla, lemon-orange citrus, pale grains, ale yeast, implied cream, low bitterness, light syrup/malt sweetness. Soft and watery with a filling-ness. Light-bodied and fairly unstrong with a woven bubble that saves it. Gone before you know it. A pushover at sub-5%.

A half-decent little cream ale. Charming in its own little way. For those who like their ales to taste like sodas.

Pours a clean pale yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, vanilla and somewhat creme soda like. In the taste, a small sweetness and a small vanilla presence. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry vanilla cream soda like aftertaste. Looks like a pils, tastes like a cream soda poured into a lighter ale.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a CCB pint glass.

A: Bright gold with some chill haze. One finger of white head over a fairly low amount of visible carbonation.

S: Light pilsner malts, vanilla, a bit sweet, and some almost lager-like fruity yeast esters.

T: Light cracker and pilsner malts, light vanilla undertones that increase noticeably as the beer warms, a bit yeasty with a sweet malty finish. This seems like a lager in a lot of ways.

M: Light body, moderate carbonation sensation. Low alcohol presence, but not a terribly creamy mouthfeel.

O: Not so good. Another miss from Thomas Creek. I've not been impressed with anything I've tried from them, with one notable exception - and this isn't it.
