12 oz bottle from bgranger, thanks!

Pours with a reddish body, fairly opaque with an elegant dusty particulate swirling like a snowglobe. Sinking sediment complements rising bubbles, all capped with a large dense off-white head. Incredible lacing for the style.

Smell is pretty serious pine, resiny with a pale malt backbone.

Like in the smell, the hop profile skips nuance and focuses on simple high-alpha bitterness. It's not overwhelming and is pretty balanced. On the dry side for the style. Not much of interest... as garden variety as an American IPA gets. No grapefruit, citrus, etc. Just below your average bitterness level for the style.

Full bodied mouthfeel, sticky bitter finish.

Reading the brewer's website, I see exactly what I tasted: 2 row pale malt, Cascade + Centennial (and Fuggles) hops. That's all there is to this one... decent but fairly mundane.

A: Amber golden clear body capped by an off-white head. Good head retention and lacing. S: Floral, caramel and pine aromas.
T: Caramel malt backbone starts sweet but leads to hoppy middle and back end with piney and herbal flavors.
M: Clean and dry. Balanced brew.
O: Malt and hop profiles produce good balance of flavors.

Pours a clear copper color with a creamy, off-white foam. A fair amount of lace is left by the sticky head.

Aroma is full of caramel, citrus and fusel. Not the cleanest smell.

In the taste, citrus, toffee, caramel, herb, grass, and pellet. Mild but earthy bitterness does an ok job with balance. Big malt sweetness. Has an English ipa vibe and in that sense it's not bad. Tastes a bit stronger than 5.5% abv there is definite clean alcohol flavor.

Medium to full bodied, a bit hefty for the style, but smooth. Overall this reminds me of a light barleywine than ipa. You could do worse.

Bottled December 18

Pours a translucent amber, thin white head. OK lacing.

Nose is fairly malt forward, lots of caramel and toast. The background hop profile is mostly spicy hops, with just a hint of citrus/pine.

Flavor is more of the same. Hops come through more, but are muted a bit by a caramel, black tea -esque malt bill.

A bit too malt forward for my tastes. This is really bordering on a hoppy amber ale.
