Pours out a deep maroon brown with a lovely patch of dimpled khaki foam.

Slightly oxidized maltinesd with brown bread kilning, sourdough crusts, Scotch ale meatiness, and a depth of sweetness reminiscent of raisin.

Failed. Overly oxidized and cardboard-like. Malts tried to stay intact, with rickety foundation. Chewed over by apparent time. Dark fruits almost gone. Tinny flavor and aged hop rot preside.

Tsk tsk, TC. This totally should have been called radpidator or paddlator or some other made up word with ator at the end.

Pours a deep black with a deep tan head. OK lacing. Bonus points there, too many "dopplebocks" are too light in color IMO. Nose is toffee with hints of caramel and coffee. Taste is roasted coffee forward, and really seems to miss the dopplebock sweetness. Mouth feel is spot on though, super crisp and refreshing.

Overall, a fine beer, but the lack of sweetness on the palate with refreshing quality pushes it more towards the taste profile of a porter than a dopplebock to me.

12 oz bottle.

pours a very dark brown, almost black. nice pleasant rich malt aroma, a bit nutty. same with the taste. smooth and nice flavor, but one-note, not overly complex. easy to drink for a stronger beer. on the thicker side, low to medium carbonation level.
