Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Maybe I pour harder than most people, but I got a big three finger tan head atop a brown/ruby clear colored beer. Looks pretty appetizing. Head recedes to 1 finger and leaves nice amounts of lacing as it falls.

First thing I pick up is orange/citrus. Hints of milk chocolate and some earthiness from the hops. No alcohol scent at all. Smells quite nice actually. When you hold the beer away and waft it you get more chocolate. I'm pleasantly surprised by the smell.

Again, very surprised by this beer. I'm usually not an IPA guy but this is a pretty well balanced beer. By reading some of the other reviews I feel maybe I have either a much older or a much fresher bottle than others? This is quite tasty and very refreshing. Some slight citrus on the nose. Bitterness on the finish from the hops and some earthy notes. Some pine also. I'm sure the chocolate is for looks in this beer because I don't pick any up in the taste. Slight alcohol warmth as it slides down your throat. Again, really nice.

Mouthfeel is nice. Mildly carbonated and refreshing. Leaves a nice little coating of bitterness after you swallow.

Overall this is a pretty good beer. I'm extremely surprised because I'm not a huge fan of other Thomas Creek products but this beer is actually quite nice. I could definitely drink this again.

A: Pours a crystal clear dark reddish brown in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation and some ruby red highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy creamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized thick patches of larger bubbles along with a moderate amount of very thin film covering about half of the remaining surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of citrus/orange hops.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of toasted malts with moderate flavors of citrus/orange hops which impart moderate amounts of lingering bitterness. There is a light hint of chocolate in the finish as the beer warms up.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: I found this beer to be interesting but not quite successful in my opinion - the combination of orange and chocolate is usually quite good but the chocolate is just a touch too subtle in this beer in my opinion.

A: The beer is clear and very dark reddish brown in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—oranges seem to stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of citrusy hops and a light to moderate amount of bitterness but notes of chocolate are noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No crispness is detectable.
O: This is an interesting beer that starts off smelling and tasting like a citrusy IPA but then finishes with chocolaty flavors.

A-Pours a deep brown color with a lovely orange hue. Head is creamy and thick, beige colored with nice retention and thick lacing.

S-Bakers chocolate, some orange zest, coriander, fresh baked bread, some raw honey sweetness, dry wheat

T-No chocolate here, as the name would imply. Orange zest, raw honey, raw wheat, a bit of a citrusy fruit bite, slightly tannic with a zesty, spiced boozy finish. Rather refreshing.

MF-Smooth. Very smooth for an IPA as it moves around my palate. It finishes with a bit of a dry hopped bite, though, with is very refreshing.

O-A solid IPA. The chocolate only contributes to the look, so do not expect any in the taste. A delicious brew that could be enjoyed on a summer day on the beach.
