12oz. Red/amber pour, half finger of off white head that retained for a really long time.

Aroma, a mild malty caramel. Light herbal and citrus tea.

Taste, tea, caramel. A light toast and hazelnut. Some hops show up late, kind of an earthy English hop flavor.

Body is to the heavy side of light. My bottle said 6.8%, which I thought was high for an amber, but ok. Wasn't noticeable. Drinks fine but it is just a bit bland. Improved overall though when it warmed.

A: Pours a relatively clear burnt orange in color with light amounts of fine active carbonation rising slowly from the bottom of the glass and significant amounts of amber highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall slightly fizzy slightly sudsy beige head that quickly reduces to a medium to large mottled thin patch and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of caramel and toasted malts with slightly stronger than moderate amounts of citrus/orange zest hops. The intensity of the aroma increases as the beer warms up.

T: Upfront there is a moderate to strong flavor of toasted caramel and pale malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by a moderate amount of citrus/orange zest hops that imparts a light to moderate amount of bitterness that does not linger for long.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy towards the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and it would definitely pair well with foods - specifically with grilled or smoked meat. Not the most interesting beer so not sure I will pick it up again.

12 oz bottle, no date.

a clear amber with nice off-white colored head. good head retention. aroma is stale oxidixed malt, and so is the bulk of the taste - just not very good. not really any hop flavors at all. I don't think this beer is really old, as the rest of the beers in this variety case were good.
average mouthfeel, medium body, higher carbonation.

overall- just a miss.

Hiya, fellow beer readers. I'm about to tell you about the Thomas Creek Appalachian Amber Ale. Rust red with a rich head that races to a wonderful lasting lace. There are some rich flavors in there, but most of them are caramel and toffee, but with a touch of roast. There's also an unpleasant cheesy taste hidden amongst the toast, sweet malt, and bitter finish.

The nose is all sweet. The beer does have a nice bitter finish and some nice flavors, but there are just far too many caramel malts and that damn cheesy umami note to be good.

Beautiful amber glow with a large head that turns into some awesome lacing.

Smells mildly of malts and the hops are quite hard to find. Fresh smelling just not strong or very defined.

Tastes light with some darker flavors hinting. Caramels and other fall flavors are preset.

Feels light bodied initially but a kind of stale feeling lingers.

Not a terrible beer. I'd probably enjoy this much more after some intense manual labor. There is some character to it which to me makes this a good candidate to share with people who may not enjoy the pleasures of some of our more flavorful companions.
