33 cl bottle poured into a goblet. Bottle purchased at Maruhn in Darmstadt.
Pours a crystal clear bronze with a finger-and-a-half of head. I have rarely seen a beer pour this clean.
The nose is full of sunny hops, freshly cut grass, bits of fruit, and spruce/pine. It is full and fresh and becomes even more complex as it sits.
The taste is bitter, but also a tad sweet and syrupy. Lots of fruit: particularly orange, but also hints of grapefruit and banana. There is a long, bitter aftertaste that keeps this beer with you for many minutes.
Overall a fabulous example of an IPA: extremely well balanced, although a slightly boozy and heavy (it borders on a double IPA). A tad overpriced (€4 for the one bottle), it is astounding to see such a beer come from a German brewer: BraufactuM is definitely worth watching.

July 2014. 330 ml, bottle No. 1071, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. BB date 30.11.2013. ABV is 6.8%. Malts are Pilsener, Wiener and Caramel. Hops are Magnum, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and Citra. Hazy amber colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of herbal and fruity hops, hints of caramel and orange marmalade. Smooth and pleasant flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, but the bitterness is hardly solid enough for an IPA. Slightly warming mouthfeel. Disregarding style, this is a beer I’d be happy to buy again.

An unnecessary beer. For me too soft, with little character. A beer too complacent with the possible tastes of the general public. There is too much ipa on the market, and too much ipa beer without character; or with too soft a character

Pours murky, copper in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is pine, lemon, and a touch of Earl grey tea. Bitter, medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Makes for a solid ipa. Not one I would rush out for again but well worth a try.

Pours as amber color with a slight haze. The initial foam head is about an inch but drops and stays at about a 1/4 inch. Lots of carbonation so part of the feel as sip. The overall is smooth with minimal bitterness or after bitterness. Pleasant beer odor. I cannot tell you the notes - citrus - as I don’t have that great of a distinguishing nose.
