On tap at Brauhaus Schmitz.
According to the draught list, this was the only bar in the US to have this on tap, but looking at other reviews, that's obviously not true.

Served in a 0.3 liter stange, a murky, rusty brown color with a small beige head, minimal lacing. Bready, malty aroma, light roast. In the taste, caramel sweetness, bready malts, banana esters, honey ham. A little weird, but not necessarily bad. Medium body, and pretty easily drinkable, especially when paired with good German food. Decent overall, but not really worth a second visit.

Thanks to Acme for this one!
Served in a mini dimpled mug at Resi's Bierstube (happy 50th to Resi's).
Review transcribed from written notes.

Murky dark mahogany brown with a towering head of tan foam that rose above the rim of the glass for a minute or so. As it dissipated, there was lots of lace in the glass, and swirling rekindled the foam easily.

Aroma was more roasty than smoky, dark roasted malts, funky yeast. Odd note of stagnant water when swirled.

Flavors of charred malt, burnt caramel, somewhat nutty and lightly bitter in the aftertaste. Body was full, fairly smooth and creamy in feel. Left more of an impression of a roast malt brown ale. This was an odd one, couldn't really get into it though I love Rauchbiers across the whole spectrum.

Cloudy brown where light clears the edges. Small head but it did leave a solid streak arc on the glass.

Sweet and Christmassy (spicy as if there is cinnamon and nutmeg in the brew). I only notice the smoke on the third whiff.

The initial taste is fairly neutral but the finish is strong--smoky with lots of wheat present. The body is thin and the carbonation elevated. The aftertaste is short lived and a bit sour. Interesting because it is different, but not enough to seek out. It's rare, so I would order if you find it.

Orange-brown colour, clear liquid. Low brownish head that sinks down quickly.

Light smokey notes in the smell, some bitterness. Caramel and woods.

The taste got a light and well integrated smoked flavour. Caramel and elegant bitterness. Some warming alcohol and red fruits/berries. Pleasant. Malty notes with some sourness in the aftertaste.

Lager-like strong carbonation. Light yet smooth liquid.

A quite pleasant beer with smoke that is not too strong.

On tap at the 2013 Firestone Walker Invitational held at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, CA.

Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy orange-tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with smoke and metallic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of smoke bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with some decent aromas and flavors.
