Got a flight of beer at the breweries pubhouse. Decided to buy a growler of this to take home. Pours a orangy amber color with a finger width white head. Smells malty with some nice hops lingering in the background. Taste starts out nice maltyness, plenty of munich malt with a slight carmel taste. There is also a nice hoppy backbone in this beer. The mouth is very good and the carbination is good even after a day or two in the growler. A good marzen from french broad.

On tap at the Mellow Mushrrom this weekend, had not had it before so I had to give it a try. Poured a nice deep amber with a smallish white head that faded leaving a decent layer of thin lace that left itself rather quickly. Smell was light, lots of grain with a bit of an underlying almost pear like aroma. Taste was also crisp, and refreshing, not watered down which was a plus, lots of subtle flavors underlying the initial malt assualt. Overall this was a very decent brew and a nice fine example of French broades creativity. Will definalty try this very sessionable brew again one day.

Dark amber no head by the time it reaches me but the little ring of foam laces a lot. Aroma is dominated by caramel malt nice bready malt light floral hops with some spicey yeasties. Tastes like it semlls good chewy caramel malt nice body floral hop finish with some spiciness present. Mouthfeel is a good medium. Drinkability is also quite good nice little marzen really nice to find on tap in Johnson City a real treat.

A: Deep amber with moderate lacing S: Caramel, sweet malt and grain T: Malted sweetness thanks to a honeylike flavor that complements the caramelized malts nicely. M: Style appropriate
D: Very drinkable as a Marzen should be. A nice oktoberfest with great drinkability. Perfect for the time of year and the setting of a beer fest where I sampled it. Nicely done.

A decent local interpretation of a German favorite. No money saved on bready malts, the beer certainly stands up. Also has moderate yeasty character that adds to the flavor. A sturdy earthy hop bitterness and flavor gives a nice balance. Seems to have caramel / toffee flavor that seems more artificial than malt driven. A light butter-popcorn flavor midway through and increases into the finish. Pretty good, but may be trying too hard.

The beer arrived on the counter a bit cloudy with a hazy brownish amber color and a fleeting low white head.

The aroma was malty with a nutty and toasty character. The aroma also contained a light frutiness.

The flavor was malty witha good hop bittering backbone which kept the malt flavors in check. The bittering was spicy and slightly grassy with a distinct tobacco flavor.

The finish was dry with a lasting hop bite into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a fairly low carbonation level. A good O'fest but just a bit overbittered.

Pint at the brewery.

Beautiful amber color with a nice creamy head and decent lacing. Smell had no complexity and no distinc odors but pleasant. Very good taste with bitter finish; also not complex but very nice. Very drinkable. Would be a great session beer due to lower alcohol content and extremely refreshing.

The beer was served a nice crisp amber with a thin head. The aroma was of caramel and bready malts. The flavor was of good caramel malts against a nice hop backbone providing a decent balance. The beer was light bodied and very crisp and refreshing. This one makes a great session beer, and I can personally say this has been proven by easily killing a growler after a trip to Asheville.

This is a meduim reddish/brown beer. Held a creamy medium size head on my taster. Sweet caramel notes, and toasted nut scents, with a good yeast profile. Grassy hop flavors, complent this smooth malt body. A little lighter than I expected, but had a saucey finish to it. This is another good session beer that would appeal to the masses.
