Fourth beer in my Beer Advent Calendar. Pretty sick short neck bottle with some cool artwork. Hippy looking guy with some glasses. Pretty cool name that gets your attention.

A - Deep copper color. Fiancé poured and created a boat load of head. From what I read it really foams so probably not her fault. Very stable head that looked like a root beer float.

S - Fairly light IPA aroma that is weaker than I expected from a double IPA. At least that's what I deciphered from the label

T - Pretty weak taste. Not a lot of hops. Sort of around a proper IPA in strength of hops. Thought it was going to be more considering I think it's a double.

M - Flat and light.

O - Perfectly average beer. Something I could get bombed off of but not something I would be excited to show friends.

330ml Can from Drinks of the World, Basel (5.30 CHF):
This one was a beer I was looking forward to but instantly became unsure of as I poured the can & it looked a lot darker than I'd pictured in my head given I was expecting a standard American IPA. Thankfully the beer was one that grew on me, especially by the time I got to the taste with the darker malts & roasted flavours perfectly balanced against some pine & citrus hops with a little sweetness & sugar thrown in for good measure. It was definitely an unusual take on the style but it went down a treat & was easily on of the better beers I tried on my trip to Switzerland; great stuff & one well worth looking out for.

L: amber red, off white head with good retention.
S: bread, toffee, honey
T: there is a lot going here: pine, honey, hint of grapefruit, toasted marshmallow. Aftertaste of fruit and roasted malt.

This beer pours a nice ruby colour with a thick two inch head that sticks around and clings to your glass. Strong citrus and hop notes on the nose with a bit of maltiness in the background. That same malt comes through as the beer warms up and the bitterness of the hop comes through in the mouth. That same bitterness sticks around in the back of your mouth. I also have to say I love the packaging on some of the Bad Attitude beers and this Big Lebowski label is definitely eye catching. If you like IPAs I think you'd enjoy this beer from Switzerland.

330ml can served in a pint glass.

A: First of of all, a beautiful can art. A tribute toThe Big Lebowski, which I'm a big fan. Great movie: great can art! The beer has a dark amber color when poured. A little bit fuzzy. It forms a big bubbled tan head. A bit soapy and with good retention. Some lacings are formed and left in the glass

S: Very malty with strong notes of flowery hops (according to the brewery, Chinook, Centennial and Simcoe). Some light notes of caramel and brown sugar. Notes of grapefruit

T: Sweet malts upfront. Caramel malts, brow sugar. In overall, a dry and bitter taste. Notes of grapefruit and pine

M: Heavy body. Good carbonation. Malty and bitter aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. I would dare calling it a double IPA but it doesn't taste like a classic IIPA. In any case, "a nice brew, Dude"

Recently stumbled across my notes from The Festival 2012. Lets do this!

A - Poured an oddly enough rather dark colour, almost red, with a tan head that faded to leave a thin blanket. Looks more like an amber than an IPA.

S - Ugh, lots more brown sugar/malts and caramel than hops here. I looked, and looked, and looked some more but could find hardly a whiff of hops.

T - Taste is slightly better. Light herbal hop notes, some faint bitter finish. For the most part though this was a malt bomb.

M - Mouthfeel was average, bit sticky. Just okay.

O - Overall, disappointed by this beer. Wanted to check it out because of the name, very unfortunate.

Appearance. Pours a lightly hazy, deep amber-gold with 3+ fingers of foamy off-white head.

Smell. Roasted oats and grainy malts, lemon and orange rinds, floral hops and a little bit of brett-like funkyness that's a little bit off putting.

Taste. Sweet grainy malts and light caramel, floral hops and citrus fruits. Better than the smell for sure.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body with medium+, soft carbonation.

Overall. To be honest, I bought the beer because of the funny can. The smell wasn't great but it was a decent tasting beer and more than just a gimmicky can.
