this is disgustingly underrated here on BA. I got this about a year ago in my rare beer club, so maybe the age has done it well, but I suspect the uniqueness of this brew surprised some palates. to me this was just lovely. my first brew from Switzerland, as far as I can recall. hazelnut brown on the pour, only a little haze t it, and a reddish glow. its also got a glorious bone white head of micro bubbles that its light and airy, as well as long lasting. the smell is very different, I smell what I think is the chestnut honey and lager yeast, as well as a richer malt profile with notes of cocoa. the flavor is definitely interesting too, a dried fruit complex pops up for just a second. before an earthy nuttiness rocks up and takes over. the honey contributes most to the sweetness, but its different from other honeys in beer. maybe its that alpine bee, I don't know, but its special. the finish is a little chalky, but robustly flavored and very different from any other bock ive come across. nice yeast, nice malt, everything works super well, and I enjoyed this incredibly much.

A-Pours amber. Foamy head. Well laced.
S-Sweet and only sweet. Has an odd, artificial sweet note. Lots of honey. Caramel covered graham cracker and grape soda? Maybe?
T-More of the same. Grape soda. Honey graham cracker.
M-Sticky with soft carbonation.
O/D-Nowhere near what I want from a beer. Sweet, artificial and not very enthusiastic in its flavor.

330ml bottle server in a tulip glass.
A: Pours a very dark amber almost brown color forming a big bubbled beige head. Good retention and lots of soapy lacings left in the glass. A persistent thin layer remains on the top for long time
S: Strong honey, fact. Strong notes of grapes too. Very fruity to a Bock beer to be honest. Also quite malty. Notes of caramel. Flowery in the end
T: Quite malty in the month. Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and honey. Notes of grapes. A bit metallic. A bit of bubblegum. Slightly sour. Good but light hoppy bitterness
M: Medium bodied and carbonation.
O: Good drinkability. Another nice brew from Birrificio Ticinese.

That is NOT a good beer. I don't know if something happened to mine during shipping, but this is awful especially given the price I paid. I was excited to try this. A strong honey bock sounded really interesting. This tastes like wet cardboard. I don't taste honey, or malt, all I taste is stale beer and cardboard.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear light caramel hue with a huge 4+ inch light tan head. Excellent retention. Light lacing.
S: Very pleasant and fairly strong honey, floral, soft melon, and caramel malt notes. Can smell this one a couple feet away.
T: Definitely a honeyed bock. Moderately strong bock base with sweet and floral honey draped over the top. Notes of cola and soft and sweet caramel malt. With warming, more fruit (e.g. strawberries, blood orange, etc.) emerges.
M: Light-medium body. Soft and sweet feel. I like what the honey lends here. Mildly dry and bitter finish.
D: An interested twist on the bock style. Nicely refreshing, not too complex.
