This is one of the best places in the Rochester area to get good beer. It has a very large selection of craft beer, and much of it is in the cooler. It's easy to get in and out and I have never had to wait in line.

I've seen not just the basic staples of craft beer but also some more unusual selections, for example, Dogfish 120. Lots of things you can't find at Wegmans.

Steamer’s Hess is fast becoming a home town treasure for a quick , quality selection beer pickup. Great selection , super convenient , the type of stop that makes me love Pittsford! As Wegmans has stepped up their craft beer game, Steamers is a well stocked, well maintained stop that gives good feels.

The best selection of craft beer I've ever seen at a gas station. The owner seems to be a beer guy, however, the rest of the staff isn't as passionate or knowledgeable. Would be nice if they installed a growler station, as some Sunocos and Byrne Dairys in the area have gone this route. Great selection of beer of all kinds- always well stocked Evil Twin, specialty Stone, Stillwater, NEBCO, MBC, Bell's, Jack's Abby and all the local favorites. They keep some rarer stuff in the back- you have to ask about it which is kind of annoying. They do announce all the cool releases on facebook- the page is under "Steamer's Hess." The prices are pretty high, and close in line to Beers of the World's prices. Out of date beer is sometimes an issue, as beer doesn't turn over well here sometimes, given it's a gas station.

EDIT:

They've started instituting some sketchy practices on special releases- making you buy a bunch of other beer to get the special release. For example, you had to buy a mixed 4 pack of Bell's stuff for 12.99 to be able to get the one Black Note included in that 4 pack. Can't really support practicies like that. Gonna drop the service rating in response.

Even though this is a gas station/mini mart, it has a very reasonable selection of craft beer- much better than the craft selection at most chain mini marts that have entered the craft beer world recently. They do not do growler fills but have a large walk in cooler with I think the best chilled selection in town.

You do have to be careful (as in most stores) of the very old bottles laying around, but today I picked up 2 week old Founders Centenial, 5 week old Little Sumpin Sumpin, along with some Great Lakes Holy Moses White. The Founders and Lagunitas were about $1-2 above the best price in town and the Holy Moses was right on price wise.

This place is a good place to stop if driving through the area or if it is near where you live.

There's a great selection of craft beer available at the Hess station in Bushnell's Basin.

The selection is great, from the usual macro stuff, to standard Guinness / Sam Adams / Brooklyn six-packs, to some higher-end beers. Bombers of Stone, Goose Island, Rogue, Lagunitas, Ithaca, etc, including some of the rarer ones that you don't often find at Wegmans - Vertical Epic 10.10.10, Double Bastard, and Nightstalker, for example. There's plenty of local craft as well - I noticed Custom Brewcrafters 6-packs and bombers and Three Heads Brewing bombers.

Pricing is reasonable but shading towards the high side - closer to Beers of the World pricing than Wegmans pricing, but still perfectly reasonable, especially for a convenience store. Not sure about service, I didn't speak to anyone about the beer, but the employees were friendly when I checked out.

Don't miss the walk-in cooler along the back wall - it's small, but packed with great beer.

If you're in the area and don't feel like trekking over to Wegmans or BOTW, it's very convenient.
