Reviewed from notes. On tap @ the Daily Pint.

Rusack Winery petite syrah aged in Sea Smoke pinot noir barrels.

A: Pours a dark, dirty brown with thin 1/4" off-white head which leaves a few spots of lace.

N: Vinous, roasted malts, cocoa powder, and mildly tart red wine grapes with some coffee notes, woody oak, basalmic and berries.

T: Interesting mingling of flower petals, vanilla, berries, earthy charred wood, tart red wine, and lots of roast. Well balanced for such a melange.

M: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Slightly clean bitterness and smooth vinous finish.

O: Enjoyable and unique.

On tap at Beachwood Seal Beach poured into half pint. Nearly opaque very dark brown, thin head, streaks on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, and a nice wood/grape skin note from the barrel. Taste is vanilla and caramel sweet up front settling into maltiness, that barrel note shows up again in an abrupt finish. Medium bodied, low to moderate carbonation, creamy texture.
