Pours a medium clear amber with a nice white head that quickly fades. Loses the head fast and then appears very light and more yellow with orange tint.

Nose is full on Belgian yeast and cooked bananas with that wonderful "carnuba wax" ester smell. Tortilla and corn nose as it sits in glass.

Mouthfeel is lovely in balance, brightness and carbonation.

Flavor profile is yeasty fresh white bread; soda cracker and green pepper/celery and salt bitter. Flavors are all integrated and well balanced.

Finish is bitter pine that is long lasting and pleasant.

All in all a very nice, well rounded and inviting drink. A "go to" with food.

A: Pours a beautiful clear straw color. The head is bright white and clings to the glass well. Bubbles make for an inviting brew.

S: The aroma is fruity, bready, with a good "skunk" note common in Czech Pilsners.

T: The flavor is great. Nice bitterness up front rounded by sweetness with a dry finish.

M: Crisp yet fulfilling this one nails it. Good C02 level.

O: A great Pils coming from the Santa Ynez Valley.

On tap at King's Row Gastropub in Pasadena, CA.

Pours a clear golden-yellow with a foamy bone colored head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, grass, and hay. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink.

On-tap at the Creeky Tiki in SLO. On to the beer:

Pale gold color with a decent looking head, adequate retention, and a few trickles of lace. If you like raw hay, you'll love the nose, as this nose is VERY strong with that one note. I can't say I overly enjoyed it though.

Big flavor, though it's not completely a good thing. There's a lot of raw hay, grass, and bitterness to this pilsner. If it were a little more delicate, I would probably end up praising this one. I like flavor in my pilsner, I just don't want to be given a massive ammount of it in one time. There's a big bite of crisp bubbles to this light bodied beer, which is the overall highlight.

This can be a little bit of a chore to get down, though in the end it arrives as a reasonable pilsner.

A: The beer pours a clear straw yellow, no lace, with healthy inch or so of white head.

S: Scents of grain, spritz of light citrus fruits, and a kiss of vanilla.

T: Light toast, light sweet malts, grains, just a touch of vanilla in there again. All bonded with this mineral component. Refreshing finish.

M: Medium carbontion, clean & crisp.

O: Clean Pilsner. Again FM beers have this fantastic minerality to them. Must be the water table, or some way in which they filter their beers, but I like it.

Pours a gorgeous platinum blonde with a white head that fades relatively quickly with no lacing. Bouquet characterized by notes of banana, lemon zest, and Belgian yeast. Wonderful mouthfeel, perfect carbonation, and banana and lemon zest make this a remarkable and easy-drinking pilsner. But what makes it truly terrific is the smooth and quickly vanishing floral finish. Because the brain recognizes that it is a pilsner, the finish of this beer can almost be described as sweet. This is by far the best pilsner I've ever drunk. Figueroa Mountain--you know what you're doing.

Classic pilsner clear yellow straw color with a fizzy white head.

Not much of a smell to this one, subtle hints of pears/grapes with a touch of cloves and some slight malts. Very hard to pick up.

Taste is really clean and fresh. Biscuit, white bread and a hint of toffee banana clove on the end. Fairly light up front but leaves a very pleasant aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is light and fresh. It's fizzy but has some creaminess to help it.

Overall, this beer is definitely a lawn mower beer. Crisp and clean, it's a nice pilsner but has some hard competition out there. I'm enjoying this one but might choose others over it.
