A: Pours a clear copper color and has 3 fingers of off-white head. Head retention is very good and it has a nice amount of lacing.
S: Smells feature floral hops and spices -- not sure if that's maybe from the yeast or perhaps the poppy seeds it says are added? Either way it makes for a pleasant aroma.
T: Taste starts out very hoppy and bitter. The spiciness noted in the nose is also present in the taste and gives it a character as a rye beer. As the beer warms up a bit I also taste some breadiness from the malts.
M: Crisp and clean mouthfeel, with a finish of bitterness and spiciness; quite dry as well.
O: A very interesting IPA. If this was in my market, I doubt I'd choose it over other IPAs but it's a good beer nonetheless...
Thank you Craig for the try!
