Dark amber orange with a fast fading white head. Head looks great when initially poured but simply disappears quickly.

Nose is full on Belgian esters; almost too sweet but very full with sweet cooked orange rind appeal.

Mouthfeel is rich but light and bright and inviting. Well balanced with nice carbonation.

Flavor profile is a nice and inviting "malty/yeasty/bitter" brown. Hints of toast, coffee and light bitter chocolate/roast grain.

Finish is a malty bitter, burnt toast/roasted grain bitter that is long lasting.

Served cool around 45-50º in a tulip glass.

Bright reddish copper color, dense head of foam, good retention. Arcs of lace around the edges, surface of the foam has a creamy texture and a stained parchment color.

Aroma is malt forward, nutty, lightly toasted bread, vague dried fruit esters.

Flavor is clean and also pleasantly malty, bready with a light plum ester, dry finish with trace hop bitterness. Light and medium bodied with very little sweetness if at all. Pairs well with food. Thanks to WST for this one!

Out of the bottle in the beautiful town of Solvang, CA. This beer should taste better here but it wasn't.
The color is pleasant, not ruby red more orange red.
Not really any smell at all.
Smooth lager taste too smooth really. A red should be different, should give you a reason to drink something different. This one does not.
Feels like soda more than beer.
Overall can't recommend wanted to but can't.

Had this while visiting my brother-in-law in Santa Ynez.

Poured into an American pint glass. More blonde than red, I was expecting more of a darker (red?) beer, judging by the name. 1/4" head which dissipates towards middle of beer. Smells decent, no off-aromas, but also somewhat nondescript. First taste is odd - almost like cardboard. This beer is as dry as a bone, which makes the bitter stand out even more than it probably should. Taste is of candied sugar, almost Belgian, which would also explain the extreme dryness of this brew. Good carbonation levels, and a tad on the watery side for a Vienna Lager, which should have more body/mouthfeel.

Not bad, nice to see more lagers, but this really wasn't something I will go back to.

Figueroa Mountain Danish Style Red Lager

Note: $6.29 at Whole Foods. Bought this on accident I meant to buy the poppy IPA. Pissed they had this behind the IPA on the front because I always grab the beer in back.

A- pour produces a 1/2 finger tan head on a deep amber body. No retention or lacing 3

S- sickly sweet malt, grains, off-putting 2

T- same as smell with the addition of some earthy notes. 2.5

M- lighter than average carbonation. Medium body. Sticky and cloying as it warms. Nasty. 1.5

O- after hurricane deck I didn't expect too much. Won't ever have another again.  This beer is not very good. below average.  2

Stopped by the brewery for a sampler and took home a growler of this. Fun place to visit.

A — Pours a clear amber with a fluffy light tan head, light head retention

S — Bready, earthy, floral hoppy notes

T — complex malty flavor, light bitterness, bready, sweet malt, honey, well balanced

M — Creamy, medium light carbonation, smooth with a dry finish

O — Brought home a growler, easy drinker with great flavor
