first time I had this beer was in a bomber that I overpaid for, drank it alone and was not super impressed. tried it again tonight, this time in a 12 oz bottle, with food and found it quite enjoyable, and definitely superior to something like Sam Adams Boston Lager. this is a smooth and easy drinking Vienna style lager, I will drink it again.

Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: 0.5l mug
From: World Market in Las Mesa (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 1, 2013
Consumed: Aug. 3, 2013
Poured a dark copper red murky color with 1-to-2 fingers of white head. Minimal lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled caramel malts, rye notes, iced tea, dates, skunky broccoli and faint vomit.
Tasted much better than the smell. Very malty. Also got caramel malts, rye notes, dates and some toasty bread.
Medium-to-light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Long finish.
Was hoping for a bit more, but I wasn’t terribly happy about this beer. Definitely decent for the style, but that’s it.
