On tap at King's Row Gastropub in Pasadena, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a medium roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some really roasty flavors.

Pours an opaque, dark burnt sienna (to borrow a term from Crayola) with a thin root beer colored cap. The lack of head is attributable to the server's care in filling the glass to the top. Very sticky lacing completely covers the inside of the glass for at least the first three to four pulls. It's really a gorgeous beer. There's a smoky peanut butter aroma with an underlying citrus hop presence. The mouthfeel is a little thin, but nicely wet and has balance with a mild carbonation scrub and hop burn. Pine flavor up front with some peat that yields to roasted malt. Notes of ripe, dark fruit. Finished bitter and nutty. Nice, complex, but surprisingly drinkable beer.
