Acquired in a trade with miggs3030

A- Pours a clean, light golden color with a bone white head. Doesn't hang around too long. Solid lacing. A soft looking DIPA for such a big beer

S- Bright fruity aroma. Passion fruit, mango, lemon grass, orange zest, and some pineapple. Tropical with a slight amount of the typical Nelson hop onion character.

T- Whoa buddy! Things escalated rather quickly. Citrus hops strangle the tongue and never want to let go. The battle ensues with cracker like malt that steps in to break things up. Depth galore.

M- Crisp, refreshing, dry. Mid body. Pretty spot on for the style. 10.6 is present, but not at all hot.

O- I can't put this glass down. I just cant get enough of it. The best way to judge a beer is how you feel about it when you reach the bottom of the glass...and I was really sad to see that glass empty on this one.

Edit:
2015 just as good as the original, if not better. Might be my favorite IPA period. Citrus, funky, zesty, bitter. Damn it...I love it.

L:. Pours a hazy lemon grapefruit yellow with a small white head and na few fingers of lacing.

S:. Lots of orange grapefruit and citrus, a weedy plants hop and a light note of bitterness.

T:. Lots of sweet citrus, grapefruit and lemon, a touch of medium bitterness, quite sweet but still works well.

F:. Smooth, creamy carbonation.

O:. This is a very nice Old schoolish IPA.

Bottle split in Grants. It sure is bitter, but would have guessed like two notches below 10.6%.

A dark gold color, a little haze. Small white head and some sticky lace.
Mostly citrus fruit aroma, a little pine. Background of sweet malt.
Taste of grapefruit, orange, and mango. Late pine. Caramel.
Nicely hopped. Alcohol not at all noticeable.

Presentation: 22 oz. brown bottle with a bottling date sticker on the cap. Served in a Munique glass.

Appearance: The bright white, one finger head stays around for a while and then dissolves into a thin foam layer. It leaves behind a lot of lacing in big, thick patches all over the glass. It's an ever so slightly hazy, pure gold color.

Smell: It goes through the full spectrum of hop aromas and it's beautiful. There's orange, grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, grass, pine, fresh green herbs and even some soft floral notes in the background. There's also a slight musty, earthy, damp and grainy scent that lingers in the finish.

Taste: It's very bitter with a lot of orange, tangerines and grapefruit at first. It follows up with more hoppiness in the form of herbal, and earthy notes of pine resin and eucalyptus. It finishes with a slight malty sweetness but it's barely there.

Mouthfeel: It's, thick, rich smooth and moderately creamy. But even then, it manages to stay quite refreshing. Carbonation is medium-low.

Overall: It's silky smooth and very fruity. If it wasn't for the quite high bitterness it would be surprisingly easy to drink for an over 10% ABV beer. Just an awesome brew overall for lovers of big, bold, traditional double IPAs.

22 oz. Bomber
Bottled On: 04/18/19

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice hazing dark golden yellowish color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which also leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango), nice pineyness. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango), pretty nice pine. Full Body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Glad to see it around here.

Pours a transparent orange with a finger of white foam. Aroma is ripe mango and tangerine. Flavor profile carries a bit more depth, hitting notes of mango, tangerine, and papaya. Mouth feel is velvety and soft, with a medium thickness. Overall, a fantastic brew.

LOOKS: a fairly clear light amber with a thick creamy foam that recedes slowly. Fair amount of lacing.
AROMA: Caramel, lemon, biscuits, dank, more citrus.
TASTE: Big taste of weed.Caramel malt, bready, and some citrus. Balanced.
FEEL: A little sticky, average carbonation, dry in the finish, medium full feel.
OVERALL: Tastes a whole lot like you just smoked a spliff.

Appearance: The bubble show builds a one finger head perched on the slightly hazy golden-tinged amber liquid; splashes of lacing

Smell: Catty and dank, with biscuity malt tones subsuming; a caramel element builds as the beer warms

Taste: The malts are big here, with the biscuit and caramel dominating the front end; through the middle, the dank, bitter hop tones build, bringing a rotting fruit aspect, as well; boozy and rather sweet finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; warmth in the gullet

Overall: I was hoping for the distinctive Southern Hemisphere hop tones from Nelson Sauvin but I couldn't find them; the overwhelming maltiness moves this one into barleywine territory

Thanks, M_chav, for the opportunity
