This Imperial Red Ale takes everything we love and turns it to 11. The hops leap out of the glass with that bounty of pine and the rye and malts interweave a complete cacophony of rich raisin, spice and caramel. This might be the most richly flavored yet balanced 9% alcohol beer we have ever made. Just ridiculous amounts of everything, but somehow Daniel was able to bring it all together into a tightly knit package that is rich but dry and bitter. With 100 IBUs, it is a outrageous hop bomb that is perfectly balanced by malt complexity.

Pours a cloudy dark copper, with a finger of head that leaves plenty of lace behind. Smells like a Now That's What I Call IPA compilation, with all the bitter hits... piney resin, juicy tropical fruits, grassy herbals, and rye spiciness. Lots going on, but not entirely composed. At first, the flavors are supremely bitter and pretty one-sided, full of citrus pith and pine that lingers in a long finish. As the beer warms, the longer, bitter finish remains, but the malts start to emerge, balancing the beer with a bit of needed caramel sweetness.

A confusing but fun beer. An interesting, over-the-top experience that's not really down my alley, but I'm sure it would tickle a hop-head's fancy.

A- Dark reddish-amber body, one finger white head, nice retention time, good lacing. Looks a bit darker compared to its single Red Ryeot counterpart.

S- Similar to Red Ryeot, it's an overly sweet toffee-forward aroma with an excessive amount of hopping. Mostly pine, but also a bit of citrus and floral aspects to it. The pine is overwhelmingly resinous. Combined with the toffee aromas, it's really powerful and you have to really like this particular presentation to enjoy it, I think.

F- Intense pine and toffee, a bit of rye is here but I think at this point it's muted by the intensity of the pine, toffee, grains, caramel that is clearly by design. Very rich flavour with a lot of bitter, resinous pine flavour. They weren't messing around making this beer. It's similar to, but not exactly the same as Double Bastard.

M- Hefty bodied, thicker and more substantial than its single counterpart, but it does have a bit less carbonation. It's even sweeter, but it's also more outrageously bitter. So, it's similar to Double Bastard in that regard.

O- A ton of flavour and bitterness. This beer will overwhelm your palate, so it's not an easy beer to review, and I personally found it a bit much. But if you like Arrogant/Double Bastard.. well, this is your cup of outrageously hopped beer.

Wow, huge pine and spiced nose - awesomely intense flavors, big malt presence brings out deeper sugars and cabinet spices all covered in a layer of smooth caramel molasses I love it! Hops make their stamp but the mouthfeel of this is pretty awesome, heavy but so well balanced you wouldn't guess the 100 IBUs. Lots going on here, I'll be deep in thought trying to pick all the flavors for the rest of the evening
