Notes/Commercial Description:
Did someone ask for hops? Tired of beers that promise a full lupulin experience, but never deliver more than richly malted bitterness? It’s no secret that this is what we excel at. We’ve been brewing world class IPAs for years. Our flagship is the culmination of a decades worth of studying and brewing. Take a step above and acclimate to what an IPA should be.

Poured out of a can into a stemless Alchemist glass.

Appearance is a bit cloudy. Rich orange tone with a nice two finger head that faded slowly leaving a thin head. An IPA isn't really supposed to be this hazy but this might be the only flaw that I can point out.

The nose is great with piney hops, grapefruit and citrus. Smells amazing and the rest of the beer doesn't disappoint! Very well balanced with dank piny hop presence and a bitterness that lingers for just the right amount of time. Every sip makes me want more.

This is a near perfect IPA for me.

A- Murky orange/yellow/golden hue. Lots of head with this can. Retention is medium. Thin layer of head hangs on throughout.

S- Cedar, hops, pine sol?, I am getting some funk too.

T- I don't like IPA's that much, and this beer was not too overbearing with the hop bomb. Real pleasant taste on the palate with some citrus and pine. Not at all like Pliny though.

M- Pretty sturdy for an IPA. Carbonation follows big down the throat, but not the least bit gagging (I can't handle carbonation that well).

O- I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. I great IPA. I highly suggest!

Thanks to Gunch52 for the hookup on this!

Poured from a can into a large tulip glass.

Appearance- Pours a clear gold, with a lot of fizzy bubbles that subside to leave a thin, wispy, but frothy head. Just a residual layer on top gives it some foam. Maybe a bit light for the style, but for a brew from the Southwest, it seems appropriate.

Smell- Bright sweet hoppiness. Crisp alpha acidity with a bouquet of fruit- mango, pineapple, passion fruit, even some ripe strawberry. Sweet honeyed citrus zest. Not at all earthy or grassy, all fruit. Awesome smelling stuff.

Taste- Bitter hoppy attack anchored by a light honey malt smoothness, and a dry finish that leaves fading hop oiliness on the back of the palate. I was expecting a heavier caramel character to come through, but it never gets there. Malt character is light and smooth, and is perfectly balanced with the fruity hop bitterness. Great stuff.

Mouthfeel- Smooth to a fault- that almost comes across as flat. A few- and I mean a FEW bubbles tickle the tongue and palate. Smooth and soft all the way down.

Overall- A dynamite IPA! If I had this locally, it would be a go-to for sure. Great balanced brew with tons of bright hops. A great summertime IPA, or for any season! The can looks sweet too. The texture might be a drawback, but not enough to detract from the overall experience. I hope to get more of this.
