On tap at brewery:
Pours a yellow stained glass with a modest white cap. A medium thick collar marks the glass with lacing in a few spots, with a scrubbing bubble like streaming swath on each sip.
Nose is malty hearty cracker with some honey sweetness and a light pear/banana fruitiness. It’s not very strong, but nicely put together for the style.
Flavor brings more strength to the familiar components: honey sweetness, ripe Bosc pear, a cracker/hay/light white pepper background, and a bit of yeasty banana lingering. Clean, light for the ABV, with a barrage of pin-pricks from the carbonation.
The beer might be a tad sweet, but the style allows for it. Fun to sip, I could have a couple of these broken up with something a little more bitter and be happy.
