Big thanks to johnnnnie for this one!

A: Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a very fizzy tan head that reduces rather quickly. Minimal lacing.

S: Fantastic, just as advertised. Lots of peanuts and peanut butter with a little bit of chocolate and roasted malt mixed int.

T: The peanuts show up right away, but the rest of the flavor profile is a bit messy, some roasted malt and a very little bit of chocolate. The flavor is actually gone rather quickly with very little aftertaste. As others have mentioned, don't really see the IBUs.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little cloying.

O: The smells is great, but the flavor profile comes off a bit muddled and confusing. Would think that it would be nice off nitro.

Appearance - Thick black with a 1 inch soft/fluffy brown/cream colored head. The head disappears rather quickly and thins out to a thin outer ring around the glass.

Aroma - Smells of chocolate and peanut butter with a bit of roasted malts as well. Unable to detect any of the hop flavors that you make expect from a 78 IBU beer.

Taste - Peanuts up front followed by roasted chocolates. Slight bit of bitterness from the hops.

Mouthfeel - Thick and creamy to start. As the beer warms up, the body becomes a little bit thinner and feels smoother/silkier on the tongue. Tends to leave a sticky sensation around the month as well.

Overall - A good beer from a local brewery. Worth a try, but not a must have each year it is released.

Fills the glass with an absolute pitch black stout body and a foamy but short-lived tan head.

Initial aroma provided strong chocolate and roasty notes but as those dispersed the peanut butter notes really started to come through. From this point forward it's almost all peanut with just a little room left for the cocoa.

I was a bit skeptical at first when buying this beer but am pleasantly to surprised to see it delivers on all accounts. Fearing that the peanut butter would be too strong, it's nice to have a strong roasted note to remind you this is a stout at heart. Cocoa nibs add their touch but aren't quite as sweet as expected and naturally pair well with the peanutty goodness.

Mouthfeel is thick but smooth and well rounded. Overall, this beer makes for a nice treat for dessert but it's boldness makes it a one and done kinda beer.

22oz bottle poured into a Tulip Glass.

A - Pours jet black with a creamy mocha head that settles to a thick ring and spotty haze.
S - Yeah, this definitely smells like peanut butter. But not the sweet Jif/Skippy peanut butter, more like the organic stuff you buy at Whole Foods that's essentially *just* ground-up peanuts. A touch of bitter chocolate, a bit of smoke, and some roasted malt rounds out the nose. I love peanut butter, but I don't know about this...
T - Yeah, not...great. Oh, it certainly delivers on what it promises, I'm getting loads of roasted peanuts, some chocolate, malt, and (for some reason) cola, but it just doesn't work in a beer. Weird and more then a bit artificial tasting, with a slightly tart, pickle-brine finish. Ugh.
M - Mouthfeel really kills this for me, though. Syrupy and a bit sticky, with a medium body overall and too-high carbonation. Think chocolate-peanut-butter-pickle-brine soda and you have this beer. No thanks.
O - I dunno, this feels like more of a gimmick then a real effort at making a good beer. I enjoyed Uber Goober from Short's, stick with that if you want a peanut butter beer.

Very dark, almost black with tanhead. Little lacing.
Smells of chocolate and slight smell of peanuts.
Dark chocolate beginning with definite peanut butter at the end.
Mouthfeel is a little light for this type, but definitely not a deterrent.
Overall a very good twist on a RIS.

Had a SMBDC Stout tasting thanks to Amy and Michael, but don't remember who brought this one.

No head, dark murky brown water colored.

nose peanut butter galore, salty peanuts, light chocolate, hint of brown malts.

Taste is more peanuts, peanut butter, light cocoa, sweet almost jelly like fruit, some bitterness, nutty malts, chewy but light creamy, earthy chewy hops, light caramel, hint of jelly fruit which may just be in my mind but I can't tell, and a little oily.

Mouth is med to a bit bigger bodied, decent carb, little oily.

Overall meh, way too big on peanuts that overpower everything, not sure on the jelly fruit but it could be there, just a hint of malts overall.

I purchased two bottles from Throwback on the release date, November 20th. Had the first taste tonight.

Poured into a 12oz Throwback tuilp glass that i also purchased.

A- rich dark color, like a coke or a pepsi. Minimal head no lacing, not long lasting. has some leg, like a good burbon or whiskey

S- like peanutbutter, and a slight alcohol hint to the beer.

t- slight peanutbutter on the back end, a boozy/winey taste is the most prominent taste i get. lots of sweet, but not malty sweet. no bitterness to ofset sweetness. little to no chocolate flavor. lable says 78 IBUs, but i'm not getting that.

m- not much carbination, not a heavy beer by anymeans. pleasant mouthfeel thought.

o- not bad, going to share the 2nd bottle i'm sure or i might save it and go vertical with the next batch and see how it deviates.

Pours a one-finger brown head that vanishes leaving no lace. Black color, no highlights. Light-medium carbonation and heavy bodied. Chocolate nose and flavor is chocolate and peanut, almost a Reese's peanut butter cup. Smooth, higher ABV is hidden, label has it at 10%. Expensive at $15.00 for a 22oz bottle from Throwback Brewery North Hampton, NH.

Poured from a bomber into a tumbler pint, the beer is jet black, with a thin, quarter inch, light brown colored head. Aromas are very rich, and roll right off the beer and out of the glass. Heavy nose of peanuts, with a creamy character to it, and a strong, subtle coffee background. Smells pretty tasty. The flavors are very well blended, and not nearly as bitter as I was expecting. The peanut flavors become creamy and sweet, and the cocoa nib gives a slightly bitter balance, as does the roasted coffee flavors. Tastes like a Nutter Butter dunked in a cup of coffee that has been sitting on the counter all day. Good, sweet blast to a more subtle, stale bitterness. The beer is midbodied, with an overall dry feel, which works well with the flavor profile to avoid being cloying or overpowering. The aftertaste is more of the coffee bitter, with a touch of chocolate, and it remains strong and rich. The finish leaves a bit of the peanut flavors behind, as well as a slightly sugary profile. Decent beer, and very interesting flavor profile. Tasty.
