Poured into a tulip. This one pours a cola colored dark brown with a thin fizzy light tan head that fizzes away quicker than it can form. Basically, this looks like Pepsi.

So I'm really torn here. This smells like straight up peanut butter. Here's my issue, I like peanut butter. A lot. I eat it like ten times a week in some form but I'm not sure if I'm digging it in my beer. So, we'll hit the middle of the road here. Not bad but not great. Also, this has an artificial sweetener aroma that I just don't dig. I guess diet peanut butter cup is a good way to put it. I'm not even going to get into much detail here. This kind of taste like peanuts and cucumbers (somehow). I guess I can kind of taste some cocoa but this is just meh. Meh I say.

Lighter body here than I would like with ample carbonation. Overall just skip this one guys. This doesn't taste good. The best thing is the smell and it's simply because I like peanut butter. But honestly, if I want to sniff some peanut butter I just go to my kitchen and crack open the JIff.

Thanks, Bendurgin, for sharing! Poured into a tulip. During the pour this fizzes like cola; the head disappears immediately.

The first whiff is all peanut butter. There is some malt sweetness detected the more time my nose spends in here, but this is mostly peanut butter.

The taste is a muddled delivery of sweet malt and peanut. This is for the most part alright, but the aftertaste is where the real horror begins. There is a vegetal flavor throughout and there isn't much bitterness to offset the sweetness.

This is kind of light for a stout with sharp instead of smooth carbonation.

Not good.

22oz bottle poured into a Tulip Glass.

A - Pours jet black with a creamy mocha head that settles to a thick ring and spotty haze.
S - Yeah, this definitely smells like peanut butter. But not the sweet Jif/Skippy peanut butter, more like the organic stuff you buy at Whole Foods that's essentially *just* ground-up peanuts. A touch of bitter chocolate, a bit of smoke, and some roasted malt rounds out the nose. I love peanut butter, but I don't know about this...
T - Yeah, not...great. Oh, it certainly delivers on what it promises, I'm getting loads of roasted peanuts, some chocolate, malt, and (for some reason) cola, but it just doesn't work in a beer. Weird and more then a bit artificial tasting, with a slightly tart, pickle-brine finish. Ugh.
M - Mouthfeel really kills this for me, though. Syrupy and a bit sticky, with a medium body overall and too-high carbonation. Think chocolate-peanut-butter-pickle-brine soda and you have this beer. No thanks.
O - I dunno, this feels like more of a gimmick then a real effort at making a good beer. I enjoyed Uber Goober from Short's, stick with that if you want a peanut butter beer.

Had a SMBDC Stout tasting thanks to Amy and Michael, but don't remember who brought this one.

No head, dark murky brown water colored.

nose peanut butter galore, salty peanuts, light chocolate, hint of brown malts.

Taste is more peanuts, peanut butter, light cocoa, sweet almost jelly like fruit, some bitterness, nutty malts, chewy but light creamy, earthy chewy hops, light caramel, hint of jelly fruit which may just be in my mind but I can't tell, and a little oily.

Mouth is med to a bit bigger bodied, decent carb, little oily.

Overall meh, way too big on peanuts that overpower everything, not sure on the jelly fruit but it could be there, just a hint of malts overall.

Big thanks to johnnnnie for this one!

A: Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a very fizzy tan head that reduces rather quickly. Minimal lacing.

S: Fantastic, just as advertised. Lots of peanuts and peanut butter with a little bit of chocolate and roasted malt mixed int.

T: The peanuts show up right away, but the rest of the flavor profile is a bit messy, some roasted malt and a very little bit of chocolate. The flavor is actually gone rather quickly with very little aftertaste. As others have mentioned, don't really see the IBUs.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little cloying.

O: The smells is great, but the flavor profile comes off a bit muddled and confusing. Would think that it would be nice off nitro.

22oz. bottle shared by EnronCFO. Pours one shade shy of black with a loose, quarter inch mocha-colored head that dissipates into a swirl and a slick. Nose expresses peanut butter, dark malts and a hint of oxidation. Taste is acidic, malty and oxidized. There is a definite dark fruit presence; however, the peanut butter disappears in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body and slightly acidic. Carbonation level is even from start to finish. I think this brew might have been quite tasty fresh; however, I feel like there may be some infection present. Not something I would sit on if I were you.

I purchased two bottles from Throwback on the release date, November 20th. Had the first taste tonight.

Poured into a 12oz Throwback tuilp glass that i also purchased.

A- rich dark color, like a coke or a pepsi. Minimal head no lacing, not long lasting. has some leg, like a good burbon or whiskey

S- like peanutbutter, and a slight alcohol hint to the beer.

t- slight peanutbutter on the back end, a boozy/winey taste is the most prominent taste i get. lots of sweet, but not malty sweet. no bitterness to ofset sweetness. little to no chocolate flavor. lable says 78 IBUs, but i'm not getting that.

m- not much carbination, not a heavy beer by anymeans. pleasant mouthfeel thought.

o- not bad, going to share the 2nd bottle i'm sure or i might save it and go vertical with the next batch and see how it deviates.
