Undated bottle at 45 degrees into goblet
Aroma of roasted malt
Head average (3 cm), light brown, creamy with small rocks, rapidly diminishing into 2 mm layer
Lacing spotty
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor of roasted malt, slightly bitter; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl; ends slightly bitter
Palate full, somewhat creamy, soft carbonation
This is a new offering from Brew Kettle. It is a Baltic porter which hides the alcohol well, but doesn’t really offer anything new. Compared to the many complex Baltic stouts and porters available, this is appears to be a very simple take on the style. Decent and inexpensive, well worth buying a couple and cellaring.
