22oz. brown bomber, purchased from The Brew Kettle, poured into an imperial pint.
A: Pours a bright mahogany with some light getting through. Medium head on the pour with decent retention and decent lacing.
S: Big wheat and wheat bread notes. Very earthy and rustic. A bit of dry grains... maybe rye? The banana and clove aren't as potent as I remember them the other night when I had this on draft.
T/M: More of the big wheat and wheat bread flavor and very earthy and rustic. This feels like something liked like to drink while camping... just seems perfect for that. The banana and clove come out much more in the taste and even has a bit of thin bubblegum-like sweetness to it. Body is about medium with just enough carbonation.
D: Very drinkable and it's pretty tasty. Not a bad brew.

I now officially love The Brew Kettle. This is a beatiful beer with a rick cloudy ruby topped off with a thick, dense, off-white head. The aroma is strongly of caramel and bananas. The banana in the flavor is almost breath-taking, but the finish is a bit short. This could probably stand for a bit more clove from the yeast to balance out the esters, but still an excellent dunkelweizen. I dont think I could tell it from a good German-brewed one on a blind taste test. The main drawback is that it lacks that creamy palate of the best hefeweizens and dunkelweizens.

Draft at The Brew Kettle.
Pours a clear dark brown color with an average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, banana and clove aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
Good drinkable beer that met my expectations.

On tap at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH on 12/1/08.
A - Medium brown/copper-colored body with excellent clarity and thin off-white head that left spotty lacing.
S - Subtle notes of clove, banana and bubblegum with an underlying wheat malt presence and a bit of roasted sweet corn.
T - Like the aroma, the wheat malt is featured prominently with some spices, especially the clove, making an appearance. Banana and bubblegum flavors are both minimal and rather subdued.
M - Medium body with a slight syrupy, though somewhat watery, texture and soft carbonation. Virtually no hop bitterness in the finish.
D - This is an easy drinking dunkleweizen with a subtle spicy character and no hop bitterness to note.

RN Dunkelweizen Poured from tap into a clean, clear glass at The Brew Kettle earlier tonight.
A Dark brown, translucent, brief head that dissipates to only a ring around the glass quickly.
S Sweet with banana. I like this smell. It is inviting.
T Sweet wheat with banana into the taste. Really nice taste that has me interested enough to finish my pint and look for more. Really nice brew. I do not taste the 5.2 ABV.
M Moderate and true to style.
D Could not be improved. Really though. This beer has an inviting sweetness but a moderate complexity that has me wanting more. I could easily drink several of these.
Notes: My favorite Ringneck beer so far.
