Amber in color with a bready 3 finger off white head and good retention. Hoppy nose with characters of fruit, earthy husky florals, and a little citrus pith. Mouthfeel is thin with a sharp carbonation on the palate an big frothy fill. Dry, bitter, chalky hops dominate with some toasted grains for balance. Some toffee in the beginning quickly yields to the hop characters and with a pithy citrus twang. As it warms some sweet fruit notes become stronger adding to much improved depth than at first. The finish has a dry bitter hop tones up front and an earthy grain and floral tone in the back.

22 oz bottle purchased at The Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH.
Pours a clear, bright golden. Thick, patchy eggshell head with lots of carbonation. Smell is husky with a bit of molasses & mineral. Some bite on the taste, which is good, edgy toasted malts and a bit of all around bitterness. Finishes dry and almost a bit woody. The only other steam beer I've sampled is Anchor's benchmark brew, and this one didn't remind me of that at all, but it's still a good, solid beer.
