First let me say that I'm a fan of the Brew Kettle. I've had several offerings from them and I'm always impressed with the quality considering the low price. Great combination!

A: Pours a deep brown almost black with a nice tan head that doesn't stick around long

S: Nose is chocolate, malt, coffee, a bit of smoke, nice

T: Taste is like drinking a whopper - delicious - malty, chocolate, sweet mollases

M: Mild carbonation - could be a little thicker but then again it's a porter

D: Glad I have a bomber here on Xmas eve. I'm playing santa in a few hours so hopefully I don't drop any toys after finishing this one.

Another great beer from the Brew Kettle, this one pours dark almost black with ruby/scarlet highlights when held toward the light. Thicket of tan head forms nicely with a scattered banded lacing pattern. Aroma has dark roasted malts and hints of coffee and dark chocolate with an air of underly fruit and herbal hops. Flavor has a nice big chocolate/nutty combonation going on. Also toffee and dark ripened fruit come about in the flavor with a bit of herbal hops. Complex porter nice girth being a robust porter, medium bodied moderate even carbonation levels going strong. I can't wait to try the rest of their beers, man I might have to visit the brewery again this summer.

This brew is a dark brown with some clarity coming through at the edges and some lighter brown highlights. A tight head forms with good retention and lacing.
The aroma is roasted malts with perhaps a mix of some other malts and just a touch of hops. Light smoky, shocolate and coffee notes all come through with a touch of wood.
Mostly roasted malts in the flavor as well, with the same coffee, chocolate and smoky notes coming through with light touches of hops and wood. While this isn't a massive, in-your-face superbeast, there's no astringency that comes through here or the charred woods, making this a solid all-around beer.
The mouthfeel is nicely creamy, a good smoothness coming through to fill the mouth. While it's no monstrous stout, the body is pretty full and there's enough malty robustness to please.
This is a very good porter and well worth a try.

Color is nice. Almost no head. Very chocolatey aroma. Smooth and surprisingly light on the tongue. It's got all the flavors you want in a porter. Bitter coffee, loads of chocolate, light smoke, some oak and vanilla.

The first couple sips didn't do a lot for me, but now that it's warmer, all the flavors are coming out more. Definitely give this some time to come up to temp. It'll make a difference.

This is very good, but it's a step below the elite porters I've had. But I couldn't tell you what's missing. Certainly not a disappointment.

12oz. A pretty carbonated looking dark brown pour, off white head atop.

Aroma, malty caramel, chocolate. Small amont of toasted malt. Some cola like qualities.

Taste, some slightly earthy malt, cocoa, toffee. Pretty dry, some roast and cocoa finish. Didn't really get any cola here thankfully.

A lighter body, lively carbonation. Drinks quite easy, could work even on a warm day.
Nothing too big or complex, but solid.

A bomber from somewhere in the Buckeye state.

A: A dark beer, cola brown with mild ruby highlights. Another head that doesn't amount to much, both on the initial pour and in the aftermath -- just a thin white band that just a bit of darker color to it.

S: Rather stout-like, dark roasted with a palpable sweetness. Chocolate, cocoa, mild spices and even a bit of vanilla come through, with the chocolate repeatedly standing out with its smooth sweetness.

T: Roasted with a lingering 'old' flavor that adds a depth. Chocolate joins the darker malts, adding sweetness. Mild vanilla flavors join the chocolate, just a little spicy against the dark backdrop. The old flavors, just a little off, add a pleasant twist near the finish. Sweet fruits follow, soft before being folded back into the porter's chocolate finish. The porter sports a rather dry finish.

M: Chocolate takes a starring role in this porter, pushing aside most of the other darker flavors. A mild spice profile adds diversionary relief.

22 ounce bottle, 6.5% ABV. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about a half inch light tan head. Head retention is good, but not much lacing left on the glass. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, with the bitter coffee flavor being somewhat stronger compared to the others. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it does seem a bit light for the style. Decent carbonation. Drinkability is good, it's smooth and goes down easy enough. I think this is a pretty decent brew overall, not a bad choice for $3.99 a bomber. I'd buy this again in the future.

A: Dark brown with ruby hues as it is held to the light. a lovely soft tan head nestled on top. Plenty of carbonation crawled it's way up the side when I poured.

S: Syrupy with hints of roasted malt and molasses. Very nice.

T: Malty and roasty. There is a bit of a sweetness to this that works alongside a bit of a sour note. Something I am not particularly found of in porters. Though still good overall.

M: Fairly thin body, with quite high carbonation.

D: Good overall, but not something I would buy a lot of.

The Brew Kettle One Eyed Jack Robust Porter has a thin, tan head (which becomes thick, when the bottom of the bottle, with the sediment, is swished and poured in), a very dark brown, almost black appearance, and substantial lacing left behind. The aroma is mild, but one can pick up a slight bit of roasted malt and some sourness. The taste is of medium-roasted barley malt, chocolate, coffee, brown bread crust, and a touch of bitterness, as well. Mouthfeel is medium and slick. One Eyed Jack finishes wet, refreshing, mild, and easy going. Overall, this is a very good beer.
