A good example of the style, but not outstanding. Roasted barley and chocolate fill the nose and the tongue. The taste is sweeter than I expected, with little noticeable hop presence except in the aftertaste. This fits with the style of course, but a little more bitterness to balance the beer could have been an improvement.
The body could have been beefed up a bit for a creamier mouthfeel, but the lightness did make it incredibly drinkable.

The Brew Kettle One Eyed Jack Robust Porter has a thin, tan head (which becomes thick, when the bottom of the bottle, with the sediment, is swished and poured in), a very dark brown, almost black appearance, and substantial lacing left behind. The aroma is mild, but one can pick up a slight bit of roasted malt and some sourness. The taste is of medium-roasted barley malt, chocolate, coffee, brown bread crust, and a touch of bitterness, as well. Mouthfeel is medium and slick. One Eyed Jack finishes wet, refreshing, mild, and easy going. Overall, this is a very good beer.
