Sample at the brewpub. Pours a hazy amber-orange color with a thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Top ring of lacing with a few patches underneath. Citrus and spice aroma with a touch of hops. Light, clean body with fruit and spice flavors, along with mild hops. The finish is citrusy and sweet with a lightly bitter aftertaste. Above average overall.

I picked up this bottle a whole [back and just got around to trying it this week. It literally sat in my fridge for the better ha;f of a year. Served chilled and poured into a pint glass, this on was consumed on 02/02/2009.

The pour was decent enough with a nice medium amber color and a smallish whole head on top. Really nice lacing here that hung around for the entire session. Nice carbonation and a slight haze to the color.

The aroma was bready, hints of light apricot like fruits, as touch of light spice and a really nice little bite of tart at the finish. Nice flavor here, though it could have been a little bit fuller. Smooth grainy flavor with a nice light fruit note mixed in. Light spice as it wears on is easily mingled out by a sharp bite of fruit then a long drawn out finish of spice like flavor. Very drinkable as whatever alcohol that was in here was very, very well hidden. Easily sessionable for the style this one went down without a fight.

Overall not bad, not very classic for the style but not bad at all. I would not mid trying this one again.

22oz. brown bomber, purchased at the brewpub, poured into a tulip. I thought this was the same brew as the apricot saison but apparently I'm wrong. No mention of apricot and no taste, either.

A: Vibrant orangish peach pour with light clouding. A decent head forms and takes a little bit to fall. Nearly no lacing.

S: Strong saison yeast and very spicy and peppery hops. Hops are still pleasant but much more than I've smelled in a saison before. Sweet malts.

T/M: Hops are very present in the taste, too. Very peppery and plenty of spice, also from the yeast. Malts are sweet, and thick and tastes like spiced holiday bread. Body is a bit heavier than I'd like but passable. Finishes lightly dry.

D: Tasty but maybe because I'm on a saison kick. The brew seems on the low ABV side but I think this bomber will be plenty.

A - Pours a dark orange color with a thick white head that lingers awhile.

S - A spicy smell of mostly hops.

T - A fruitful, spicy mix of flavors that finishes slighlty sweet.

M - A somewhat light body with just enough carbonation for a crisp finish.

D - Very easy to drink. This is the first saison I have had and i enjoyed it.
