I actually went back to a pub I had been to when I realized they had this and I missed it. The prior night I had Fathead Headhunter and thought that was amazing. Honestly, I think this little IPA topped it! The smell was perfect. Heavy floral and fruits, how I like it. Taste just as great. The smell translated well to the taste and had just enough sweetness and just enough bitterness. Really glad I found this one. Makes my top five IPAs up there with headhunter and jai alai. If you find this one try it and but it. Glad I had to go to Ohio for a wedding to find this.

The beer comes in a dark orange amber.

The aroma has sweet tropical and citrus. It has a literal aroma of dried apricot, peaches, and dried mango. Pineapple and oranges follow. A hint of a bready malt.

The flavor follows with a bouquet of fruits in the front. Peaches, papaya, oranges, red grapefruit juice, although not as bold as the aroma. The beer has gentle bready malt that gives the beer some sweetness. The finish is of grapefruit pith and peel and medium bitterness with lots of drying.

A medium minus body on this.

Next to Columbus IPA and Head Hunter, White Rajah won out slightly Head Hunter and then Columbus IPA. A very fruit forward IPA and definitely one of my favorites

Appearance: pored into a great lakes snifter, beautiful golden color

Smell: pineapples, mango, and some grapefruit all lingering this golden circle.

Taste: HOP BOMB, dang this is one smooth IPA, front of the tongue lingers a fruity ester of pineapple and mango with some grapefruit to cover up VERY little malt to balance all and all great beer

deep orange amber, and absolutely crystal clear. There was a radiance about it that was outstanding. Tons of carbonation rippling up toward the surface, three-inch head of white foam formed on the top settled down into a nice one finger high pillow

t pungent, ripping citrus hops you could imagine. Just absolutely the freshest grapefruit smell. slightest bit of sugar on the back end sweetening it up, but otherwise this was just a hop driven monster of an IPA. dripping fresh hop taste. Really extremely sharp, crisp, and just unbelievably fresh, As it warmed some slight bready characters came out, but nothing was toppling the huge hop taste. In fact, it made a nice transformation over to a pine resin like flavor as it warmed, and got even stickier. The finish was huge, dry, and bitter, perfect.

Perfectly clear reddish-golden body with a creamy finger of yellow-white head. Just beautiful.

Nose is very much like fresh Pliny with huge citrus hops and notable pine.

Flavor is sweet, creamy citrus hops swirled onto a light malt body. Unbalanced to the hop end in the best tradition of the West Coast IPAs.

Mouthfeel is solid, yet light creaminess with a substantial hop bite on the finish.

Really just an overall success as an IPA, as well as a well crafted beer. Not a thing to dislike about this fantastic brew. Maybe it deserves all 5s, but I guess I've become a tougher grader.

Never heard of the Brew Kettle before this one, but I will seek out their other offerings.

big thanks to a great trader for this fresh puppy. It went from the box into the fridge and in 1 hour it was cracked and down my stomach. From a 12oz bottle it pours a see through gold color with a white. The smell is citrus and fresh fruits and hops super fresh!!! If it smells as good as it tastes I’m gonna be bummed because this is my onlt (lol). WOW, this beer is so deiciouslly balanced and you taste the fruit up front with a hop finish. The taste of this beer totally lives up to the hype of the smell!!!! Super bummed that I only have had one because I could drink this one over and over and over again. Thanks Bitter!!!

Poured into a standard pint. This one is super fresh, only about 10 days old. Thanks to frenchblood21 for the hookup!!

A: Like liquid gold. A shimmering golden copper color, crystal clear with a juicy, bubbly two finger white head that rapidly recedes to a quarter finger. Wonderful contrast here between crisp white head and the golden orange color. Spectacular clarity. Excellent lacing on the sides. A great looking IPA.

S: Wow, a citra bomb! Mango, pineapple, orange cream. Wave after wave of the tropical stuff assaults the nose. But it is so smooth: not a hint of booze or bitterness to be found in the bouquet. Orange zest notes are pointedly assertive here. Has to be one of the best smelling IPAs I have ever experienced. Top marks.

T: Mmmm...hop heads will be buzzing. Lots of tropical fruit, especially pineapple and orange. Pretty good malt presence too, with some sweet biscuit notes providing a solid foundation for the hops. A bit of pine resin provides an assertive bitterness through the finish, but it's very much a smooth beer. The hops here are so assertive yet they don't overwhelm. No harshness to be found. Just a smooth, creamy, hop dream. Excellent.

M: The balance and carbonation are spot on, but White Rajah might be just a little too light for it's own good. It's so delicate that the finish is almost watery because the citrus notes fade out and all you get is just a kiss of bitterness. Probably could have used just a little bit more malt to thicken things at the end. Stacked against the rest of the beer, though, it's not a big deal.

O: Brew Kettle's White Rajah is absolutely a contender for best IPA in the land. That's not to say it IS the best IPA in the land, but it can be mentioned with the likes of Russian River, Three Floyds, Kern River, Alpine, Bells, Founders, so on and so forth and not be embarrassed. This would give any one of those beers a run for its money. Fantastic beer from start to finish. Bravo, Brew Kettle!

S: Citrus, hops, tropical fruits!

T: The taste really matches the Smell quite well... Even more grapefruit here. Well balanced too, though.

M: Hint of resin/stickiness, good fresh feel.

O: Overall, I found this one outstanding. Balanced, tasty .... refreshing yet bold.

WTF!!! This is only a beer in the technical sense. In reality, it is a hop delivery liquid with only 2 main purposes; (1) To dissolve any and all tooth enamel, and (2) Put you into a lupulin coma.
I bought this on a whim and was quite surprised by this little hidden gem.
The aroma is nothing short of heaven. Citrus & mango overload the olfactory senses.
The color is quite light. Nice head & carbonation.
Taste is all about the hops. If you are looking for balance, you will not find it here!
This is a beer whose main dermographic is the quintessencial hophead.
When I die, I hope this beer is available in the afterlife.

Amber on the pour. Wow, outstanding hoppy nose. Pine and floral scents. This is a really well-balanced IPA. Floral, resiny, citrusy, dryer sheety hops are smoothed out by a thick, oozy slug of caramel malt. This is a classic Midwest take on a West Coast IPA.

Perfect balance of juicy hops with sweet malt. Smells fantastic and has just the right amount of carbonation.

Pours a crystal clear golden orange. perfect frothy white head. This beer looks incredible!
Smells hoppy and citrus heavy. Grapefruit, a touch of pine. Smells wonderful.
Tastes like it smells. The bitterness is just a hair more than I'd like. piney but also citrus heavy on the tongue. The malts are barely present but fill out the body nicely.
Nice solid mouthfeel. Rich, full, well carbonated.
Overall, top notch. I'm quite impressed!

Poured from bottle into Goose Island tulip style pint glass.

Appearance- Beautiful burnt orange color with a half finger of snow white head. Very nice lacing throughout the whole glass.

Smell- Grapefruit and hops explode in your nose. Lemon and lime, along with a piney woodsy aroma.

Taste- Wow is this delicious! You can totally taste the hop bomb, but it is also, at the same time, so incredibly smooth. Grapefruit and hops dominate everything else.

Mouthfeel- Unusually thick for an IPA, but so good. It's like you put a grapefruit, lemon, lime, pine cone, a bunch of hops and fresh cut grass all in your mouth at one time.

Overall- Just a fantastic beer from a brewery that consistanly makes amazing tasting beers. This is their pride and joy, and I can certainly see why.

S: Tropical hop bomb! tangerine, orange, pineapple balanced nicely with a candy caramel malt and just a touch of pine.

T: Zesty orange and citrus up front. Some grapefruit balanced out by some spicy earthy hop. Sweet malt in the middle, but nothing that stands out then BAM! Piney Herbal HOPS! fantastic finish on this beer that lingers on and on!

M: Mouthfeel borders on the lighter side with a good amount of carbonation. And like i said, a dry lingering finish!

O: This is awesome stuff! For me its readily available and inexpensive. I could drink it forever because the drinkability is so high! It is also bursting with flavor and has this awesome bitter dry finish. /94

Sampled on draft at Paxton's in Loveland, OH.

Appearance is a clear golden orange with some sticky lacing left on the glass.

Smell is bursting with dank piney hops and tropical fruits. Grapefruit and mango. Fresh hop aroma with a bit of pale malt buried underneath.

Taste is strong on the pine and citrus hop flavors. Some mild sweet caramel followed by a bitter clean finish. Hop heavy but a good balance for an IPA. I think this could be the definition of what an American IPA should taste like.

Medium body and dry. This is very easy drinking with a clean finish that leaves plenty of hoppiness on the palate.

Overall an excellent IPA. This is my second time trying this brew and it is just as good as the first. Definitely recommend this for hopheads for its great flavor and aroma.

S: AMAZING! Lots of fruits: orange and grapefruit jump out and a strong pine with light floral.

T: Excellent. Hoppy up front which fades nicely to a smooth drink, hints of grapefruit. All followed by delicious malt!

M: Very very smooth and easy to drink. Goes down really, really quick. Every taste bud gets hit by delicious hoppyness.

O: Great IPA and located in Ohio. Always grabbing a sixer at my local bottle shop!

A finger of almost white head sits atop a coppery-amber body, but not for long. It dissipates to a ring and a light dusting in a couple of minutes, and enough light lacing clings to the glass during consumption to please the eye. A small amount of bubbles are noted rising to the top of this nice translucent beer.

The nose is where this beer's experience really kicks in. As expected, the hops are at the forefront of the nose with grapefruit and passion fruit making an early showing. With a little searching one also finds ripe oranges and pine in there, with a kiss of malt to balance it out. Outstanding.

Pine and grapefruit are the first flavors to come to attention when one takes a sip of this. This is immediately followed with the taste of oranges and a hint of passion fruit, with just a whisper of malt rounding out the taste experience. As the beer warms up, the malt gets going with a decent bread character on the back end, which really just serves to make the whole thing better and more solid tasting.

This beer is medium bodied, nice and bitter and only coats the mouth a little bit. It's a little dry at the end, and leaves you with a strong bitter aftertaste that is reminiscent of pine and grapefruit, without being in your face about it.

I recently moved out of Strongsville, and let me tell you, if you want to get this beer on tap at the Kettle, you must get there early. It had a good reputation before winning "Best in Show" at the International Beer Fest in Cleveland this year, and after having done that it sells out quick. It is definitely worth every penny though.

Poured from a bottle into my Duvel tulip.

Live review.

A: Pours a clear golden tinged orange, 3 finger off white head that settles into a thing cap. Leaves thick, sticky lacing everywhere and it won't let go of the glass. Perfect, really.

S: Who switched my beer? I've had this beer twice before, once on cask and once in a ~6 week old bottle. This one is nothing like those pine bombs. This one is tropical fruit, pineapple, papaya, mango, tangerine, orange, some floral notes, lightly piney, some light caramel notes behind all of it. Very, very impressive.

T: Okay, this isn't funny, who switched my beer? Follows the nose, with a nicely bitter front of tropical fruit, pine, lightly sweet malt, and finishes lightly dry and lingering bitterness. Fruit sticks through the finish too. Very impressive again. No hint of the ABV.

M: Light side of medium body, oily and coating on the palate, and lightly creamy. Only thing that doesn't wow me. In no means is it bad though.

O: So I finally give this beer a third chance, and sufice to say, I'm glad I did. When this beer is fresh, it's fantastic. I've had it faded as well, which is a markedly different beer. If you can get this beer fresh, it competes with ANY IPA in America, including my favorite in Columbus IPA. Instant entry into my top 5, and honestly, it's neck and neck with Columbus now.

There, I said it.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

A - pours a fairly clear light orange color with a 1.5 finger slightly off white head that vanishes fairly quickly leaving a small foam film with some CO2 pockets visualized.

S - lots of hops; citrusy and tons of tropical fruit

T - very hop forward IPA with a firm, somewhat rough, bitterness paired with some citrus and tons of tropical notes throughout. A nice bitterness lingers on the palate - for a long time. Contrary to them listing this as a smooth bitterness, I feel it's slightly harsh like a Columbus bitterness - which I really enjoy in an ipa.

M - just a touch of slickness, but fairly light indicating a nice dry IPA

D - Somewhat high. The 7% ABV is well hidden by being fairly crisp, which equates to being super easy to drink.

Overall, a very nice IPA. It seems a lot of breweries are playing with the tropical hops like citra and galaxy and pairing them with amarillo, cascade and other citrus hops. Ithe aroma is fantastic and reminds me a lot of Zombie Dust because of all the Citra hops. I had this side by side with a bottle of 01/03/12 bottled PtE and the aroma in this far exceeds that of PtE, which I was surprised with.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a nice white head and sticky lacing.
Smells mostly of citrus, grapefruit, cotton candy, mild spice, just an amazing balance of contrasting smells.
Taste is citrus up front, followed by a lingering, dry finish. The whole thing comes together perfectly. Feels smooth and creamy with a nice level of carbonation.
This brew is one of the best IPA's ever. Just enough citrus to make it interesting, smooth sweetness and lingering bitterness to make it complete. I want more. Lot's more.

12 oz bottle, Erin brought it back from Ohio.

Appearance: I just don't think this could look any better. Off white head fills the top of my tulip and fades leaving beautiful sticky lacing. The body of the beer has perfect clarity and is a light, orange-gold color.

Smell: Sweet citrus and tropical fruit hops. Smells big and juicy. Hint of dank and a tiny bit of pale malt. Beautiful.

Taste: Just excellent fruity hops and substantial bitterness. The flavor is all sweet hops and bitter bite, with little malty flavor-- but in a good way. Orange, peach, grapefruit, weed.

Mouthfeel: Soft and nicely carbonated, but with a dry, crisp finish. For a beer that is relatively small compared with all the hops it carries, the dry finish accentuates the bitter bite in a slightly negative way.

Overall: I'd never heard of this beer. What a surprise. Excellent beer.
