Great IPA, subtle hop aroma, light in color, smooth with a very mild finish. Very balanced and easy to drink for an almost 7% IPA. I enjoyed this one a great deal (162 characters)

You can almost smell how slick & juicy this beer is, with lots of flowery, herbal hops with tinges orange citrus & a little grapefruit peel. The hops are not super bitter but are a tad astringent / medicinal. It has a medium body with a good resinousness that coats the tongue. More soft grapefruit rind and citrus hops with very little malt presence. As others have said, it is very drinkable & not some bludgeoning hop monster. Even if IPAs aren't your thing this beer is definitely worth a look as it is very smooth and even with a refreshing, juicy kick. (563 characters)

Clear orange, big white head and spotty lacing. Notes of orange, hay, and grapefruit pulp. Thin side of medium mouthfeel. Very easy drinking IPA, classic west coast profile but don't very well. (196 characters)

Tried this on my last visit to Ohio at the Lizardville beer store. Great hoppy local IPA that I would be happy to have again. Nice citrus notes but easy drinkin. (163 characters)

Fresh 12oz. bottle poured into a snifter tasting glass.

A=Clear, bubbly, crisp looking golden color, pure white head settles from 1 finger to creamy covering, lacing loops the glass with each sip.

S=Citrus is the big up front character to this beers aroma, bit of tropical notes with some earthy, grassy hints in there as well.

T=Very tasty, clean and crisp, citrus up front with the earthy/piney/grassy following with nice balance of malt, hop flavor, and bitterness.

M=Moderate level of carbonation with medium body, nicely balanced and clean.

O=I found this exceptional. Was my favorite from a trade (and it was an extra). Very balanced, great use of aroma, bittering, and flavor hops, clean and easy to drink. (721 characters)

Got this as an extra in a recent trade. Thanks @plutoniumpete! Great aroma with a 2 finger head that lingers for a little bit. Taste is exquisitely balanced with the bitterness perfectly contrasting the malt presence. I wish I was able to get this in the South. Great experience and glad I was able to try a bottle. (315 characters)

A little disappointed in this one. Maybe just not the right day for it, as I drank a few all day ipas before it.

This pours dark for an IPA with such little malt flavor.

Smell is citra and Amarillo hops. Very fruity. It's juicy, and those are certainly the right hops for this malt bill.

Taste is Citrusy with the Amarillo hops coming through. Maybe some dried apricot.

Finishes dry. Good mouth feel. (407 characters)

Revisited this beer after not having it for a long time. Why was I not drinking this all the time? I served this to several friends at a tasting I hosted. Some rated it their favorite of the night, behind PtE, KBS, and Dark Lord. (229 characters)

Absolutely delicious. Beautiful amber appearance with a nice creamy head, that melts after a few minutes, leaving a nice lacing. The aroma is bursting with ripe typical fruits. Taste follows bouquet, and is joined by a gripping, assertive, hoppy, grapefruit rind bite. Great balance here. The astringency lingers as the fruit basket melts and morphs into caramel, toffee sweetness. The finish goes on, and on... Really beautiful.

This already has high marks, but deserves to be in the ranks with the best IPAs. It's on the sweeter, stickier side and may not appeal to fans who prefer a more austere style. If Trillium produced this, people would be flipping their wigs!...at a fraction of the price. Nice. (708 characters)

Wow! Recommended by an unknown compatriot at Joseph's. I recommended Founders Centennial IPA to him. Add this deliciously smooth IPA to the best in genre! Cheers! (167 characters)

Shout out to The Brew Review Crew for the trade!

Appearance: Clear straw golden color with a one finger white head

Smell: Citrus hops, funky cat piss, grassy

Taste: i find the taste to be cleaner than the smell. Nicee citrus notes upfront, a subtle cat piss character mid palate along with pine and grass throughout the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied; Goes down smooth with a moderate bitter finish

Overall: I enjoyed this, but i expected more and find it overrated. That simcoe cat piss character is more prevalent than i prefer. I feel like Dirt Wolf for example nails that hop profile, but this does not. I think upping the alcohol a percent would do this some good. Other than that this is a tasty beer with a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel. Id much rather have a FatHeads Head Hunter though, which is easily accesible in my area, and probably wont seek this out again (876 characters)

The sweet and smooth finish really puts this above most other citra IPAs. Its basically hops all the way through. My girlfriend would hate this beer, but I really like it. (171 characters)

12 oz. bottle into a tulip. Cloudy, medium amber in appearance with 1/2 a finger of white, bubbly foam. Huge tropical fruit, citrus, and bubblegum notes on the nose. Light weight with a crisp, dry mouthfeel. More tropical fruit on the taste initially with a sudden transition into a bitter hop bomb. There's a good balance between the fruity sweetness and the hoppy bitterness, with this one leaning slight toward the hoppy side. I detect traces of alcohol, but not enough to be offputting. The finish is clean and assertive, and you're left with a piney, hoppy aftertaste.

Overall, very good. (594 characters)

Pours a clear light golden color with a pretty thin white head. No lacing. Smells like mango, guava, pineapple, and slight citrus. Tropical fruit heaven. Citra hops for sure. Taste follows the nose. Malt is really hidden with little alcohol. Probably the best "West Coast" IPA I've had that's not from the West Coast. Good amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Very drinkable. Overall a great IPA. Not much to complain about. (440 characters)

To me, this is a perfect IPA. The citrusy aroma and flavor are incredible. It's not what I would call a "balanced beer" and that's exactly what I want in an IPA! If I want a malty beer, I'll drink a stout or scotch ale. Don't get me wrong, the malt is there, but it's juuuust there enough. The hops are the star here.
If I have to dock it on one thing, it's the label. Silly I know, but the label sucks. If I didn't know this beer was great already, I'd be thrown off by the UK and US flag combo, thinking that it meant a blend of US and UK hops, which thankfully isn't the case! All west coast style IPA, all the way! Love the CITRA! (637 characters)

The appearance is golden hay.
The head was a couple of fingers and white with a modest pour.
The aroma was citrus all the way.
This IPA is fantastic and delicious.
The mouthfeel was heavy and oily, like Ballantine IPA, but I like that.
Overall, this is a very satisfying IPA. (275 characters)

Poured from 12 oz. bottle to pint glass.

A: Very clear deep golden with a small white head.
S: I get a lot of tropical fruits- pineapple, mango. Orange, and wild berry as well. Hint of pine. Funky ammonia smell from simcoe.
T: Big hop bite on the front of the tongue. Lot of pine. Some candy grapefruit taste. A bit of some sweet tropical fruits as well. Dies down quickly to some sweet light malt.
M: Medium.
O: Pretty good. It gets better as it warms. (454 characters)

Long time want from buschbeer, cheers man!

Pours a hazy honey-gold with a half finger of white head that fades quick. Nice nose of ripe citrus fruits with some light tropical fruits and a bit of cedar. Nice sweet(ish) pale malts with some pineapple and tropical fruits plus a splash of citrus juice cocktail. Medium+ body, medium-low fine and smooth carbonation. Great stuff (375 characters)

5's across the board for me. This beer is PERFECT for my taste buds. Assertive bitterness gives way to mild fruity sweetness at the finish, which is exactly what I want from an IPA.

Bodhi, Head Hunter and this are my Holy Trinity of Ohio beers. Rajah is a super-balanced West Coast styled IPA. Its flavor is crisp and bright, almost perfumey, and has a fantastic sweet finish. (194 characters)

Smell - Grass. Tropical. Dank. Floral.

Taste - Vanilla. Bitterness is largely in the end.

Feel - Oily. Faint carbonation.

Overall - I like it. Good mix of bitter and citrus. (277 characters)

After reading prior reviews, I'm concerned I drink a bum bottle. Regrettably, my second helping confirmed my disappointment. Looks and smells great, but the taste was overweighted citrus, and flat. Very flat. Willing to try another from this brewer, but not crazy about my first choice. (290 characters)

Look: A transparent burnt straw with a minimal white head.

Smell: Big juicy citrus delicately mingled with a earthy grass. Bright peach, lychee, tangerine, pine needles, and a touch of fresh cut grass. Malt is very faint in the back. Smells fantastic.

Taste: Deep fresh citrus waves over the tongue as a slightly bitter pine dances on the palate with more bright citrus brings in just of hint of malt with a touch on honey and lychee. Brilliant.

Mouthfeel: The citrus is deep and sticky on the tongue but the brew itself is crisp and clean. The hop body lingers on the finish.

Overall: An absolutely killer IPA. My favorite since Swamis and beats most by a long shot. So well crafted with the deep pungent citrus and the crisp clean body. A brilliant IPA with no room to hide any errors of which it has none to hide. Seriously hunt this beauty down (856 characters)

Pours clear golden in color with no head whatsoever. Smells very hoppy, as it should. A piney, resiny, punch-you-in-the-nose hop aroma.

Again in the taste I find piney, resiny, punch-you-in-the-mouth hops, only this time with some citrusy notes (grapefruit), and an herbal taste. Very nicely carbonated.

This beer is ALL HOPS, ALL THE TIME... and nothing more. (365 characters)
