Had this on 2011-12-07 in Columbia, PA. This is one of their Brew On Premise beers as distinguished from their Production Works beers. Acquired at The Brew Kettle on 2011-09-09.
A - Clear mahogany and splashes of ruby with a 2.5-finger tan head. Moderate lacing. Looks great.
S - Moderate levels of caramel malt, citrus, bread and hop floral.
T - Sweet roasted malt, lots of earthy spice, rye bread, dark dried fruit, citrus flesh and grapefruit zest. It dries pretty well. The aftertaste includes a touch of sourness like you get after swallowing rye bread, earthy spice and a hefty amount of grapefruit bitterness.
M - Medium body and carbonation. Pretty smooth and viscous. Somewhat resinous and prickly.
O - Reminds me of a Great Lakes Nosferatu without the licorice. This is a fine brew although I prefer their Production Works Old 21 Imperial IPA more.
