Of course there's some gimmickry going on with the additions of chocolate, coconut and milk sugars, but I don't think I care. My senses are completely underneath the spell of this "Mounds" tasting stout and I'm not about to make many apologies for it.

The Brew Kettle's "Kitka pours a dark bark brown color with a billowing arid head rising in the beer's wake. It's chocolaty upstart is that quintessential aroma of Belgian chocolate with faint molasses and Kailua. Its taste is not so chocolaty as caramel, toffee and nougat round out the sweeter complexities early on the palate.

What ensues is a wonderment of developing taste as the stout unfolds on the palate, going from bittersweet chocolate and towards tastes of coconut, vanilla, coffee and macadamia. Deeply saturating on the palate, the sweetness and complexity rivals that of dessert as the ale trends drier and sweeter as the late palate develops.

In much dessert-like fashion, the medium-full stout seems sensible and drinkable, lacking the booze and residual sweetness that's commonly associated with such after dinner beer, however the decadent taste, lavish texture and soft elegance in robust attitude makes the stout ideal in replace for dessert. Its long chocolate and coconut finish extends well into the next sip.

Good beer. Seems to be a bit too much coconut in that it really sweetens the beer a bit more than it seems it should. Regarldess, it's an easy drinker for sure, and a pleasant one at that.

Opens with a fierce pop. Pours a dark brown color with a light off white head. Aroma of sweet malts with hints of cocoa and perhaps vanilla. Vanilla and cocoa in the flavor also, coconut and milk sugar lending towards vanilla element. Sweet, toasty, has good depth of flavor. Highly carbed and a bit too dry. Overall, this is a pretty decent brew needs less priming sugar though.

On-tap at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH...

A: Pours a nice deep black with about a half finger of mocha colored head. There is a slight amount of lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is sweet. I get hints of chocolate, caramel, and lacto sugar. I don't get a whole lot of coconut in the nose, but I'm ok with that.

T: Really nice. It's sweet, creamy, and slightly roasty. I'm picking up a ton of chocolate, a little caramel, and a dash of coconut. This is an underlying roasty quality that mixes wonderfully with the over the top sweetness of this beer.

M: Full bodied beer. It's super creamy, and the flavors linger on the palate forever. It's one of those beers where the more you drink it, the more you want to keep drinking it.

O: This is a really wonderful beer. If you ever make it out to the Brew Kettle, and you see this on tap, it's a must buy. Color me impressed.

A- Pours a really dark brown maybe even black with a thin tannish brown head. Head has ok retention, becomes a thin layer of bubbles and very thin lacing behind.

S-Smell is fairly sweet. Milk chocolate, fairly light coconut, light roasted malts, touch of char and mint like.

T- Mint is every where here and dominants this brew. Coconut is fairly light. Every thing here seems muddled due to the mint.

M- Medium in body and fairly light in carbonation.

O- I couldn't finish this brew and passed it off to a friend for his White Rajah.

12oz. bottle at Lizardville Beer Store

A: Adequate enough. Thin.

S: Some coconut!

T: This is a travesty. Just a touch heavy on coconut extract maybe. Flashbacks to the beach and all them honey's rubbing Hawaiin Tropic lotion.... I'm surprised the bottle didn't slip out of my hand.

M: Pretty gross actually. Like lube / oil. SLICK.

O: The coconut overwhelms everything. BK may have outdone One Eyed Jack with this one.

Had this on tap at the brewpub and it was so good I lugged a growler back 600 miles to NYC.

64oz Hill Farmstead growler into a Southampton oversize snifter... to really enjoy the aroma.

Pours a 1 finger light coffee head with poor retention. Beer is opaque black and full of carbonation. Lacing is spotty with little cling but decent legs.

Nose is coffee, roasted malt, milk chocolate, lactose, fudge, and mild coconut. Real sweet and rich but at the same time light and refreshing. Very nice.

Opens sweet chocolate, roasted malt, and coca cola. Mild vanilla, lactose, and coconut towards the middle. More lactose and sweet coffee at the end. Nutty finish with some sweet, roasted coconut in the aftertaste. Incredible. I don't think I've had better.

Light bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Bubbly in the mouth but smooths out as it warms and going down. Sticky finish with a lingering aftertaste. Perfect.

One thing to note is that this is mis-categorized as an imperial stout. It clocks in at 4.6% and is just a regular milk stout. Judging from that category, this is the runaway winner in that style. Just an incredible beer with such complexity and flavor and at the same time, such drinkability. Wish I could have this all the time.
