Poured into a standard pint glass. When I bought it, i thought I was getting an ESB. My first thought was that this would be great if it were a mild... Of course it is a mild, so I guess I have to say it is a very pleasing English Mild.

Keeps a nice thin head. On the sweet side, but that's to be expected. Definitely bready in a good way. 5.1% ABV means it is fairly sessionable...

I will buy this again for sure.

On tap at Paw Paw the day after Dark Lord Day 2012. Served in a taster glass. Pours a clear light copper color with a good white head and nice retention. Lacing on the way down to a collar. Nose has some floral and earthy hops along with some bread and toast in the background. Flavor has a crisp bitterness to go along with some nice background hoppy notes. Pretty nice and easy drinking.

Impressively done english mild. Spot on the style for flavor and malt profile.

Copper colored with no head but nice lacing. Aroma is bready and rich. Flavor is a home run hit of buttery bread, toasted malts, and a touch of noble hops.

Not many small breweries can pull this style off (in my experience). Most of the milds I run into are rife with diacytel and off flavors.

The trade off here is that this ale was probably fermented at lower temps, served at lower temps, and highly carbonated to increase the "crispness" and drinkability.

It's a bit high on the ABV for a mild but still Very quaffable and very recommended.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, light pear/apple, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate yeast ester flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice English mild style. Good balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors with good robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

The brewery calls this an English Mild Ale.

Great malty but tangy flavor. Spicy nose. Brambly, toasted, biscuity flavors. Surprisingly rich. A remarkably good modest alcohol beer. Really nice bitter edge but so well balanced. A great argument for more exploration of British styles.

The classic low-carbonation English style but it has a definite zing of dissolved CO2. Sensationally drinkable. Just enough hops to give it an edge but plenty of malt to give it a mouth-filling body. Golden color with a slight chill haze in the pint glass. Would go well with a couple of sausages, or even spaghetti and beans on toast.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with little off-white head that leaves little lacing.

Pretty mild aroma. Fairly balanced between a brief pine bitterness and caramel malt and hint of nut.

The flavor follows the nose pretty well. Nothing overpowering, but pleasant for an English Ale. Pine, caramel and nut are the defining tastes.

Medium to thin body with light but active carbonation.

Nothing too exciting but is a legit English Ale.
