12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, apricot, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, apricot, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, apricot, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Mild lingering hop astringency through the glass, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is good. A bit too resinous/drying. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is a pretty good IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; smooth and easy to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. No idea how old it was, but the caked yeast/protein on the bottom says too long. Pretty muddy aromas/flavors. Probably Chinook, Columbus, Amarillo. Dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; balanced dark/bready malts, minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. An enjoyable offering otherwise.

Quick review from notes Michigan Brewer's Guild summer festival 7/25/2015: pleased with this choice, no extreme hop-splosion, just a mid grade ipa
