Poured from the can into a Chimay goblet.

The beer pours a darker amber than your average IPA. It is just a bit cloudy and doesn't have quite enough head. The hop profile is intense with a bitterness that is a bit heavy. I'm getting some pine and citrus peel, but the finish is just bitter. There is some malt in the background, but it is overshadowed by the hop bitterness. This isn't overly impressive, but it's a pretty good beer. (434 characters)

16 oz can. Pours a slightly hazy light copper amber with a smallish off-white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet caramel / crystal malts with fruity, piney hops.

The flavor is sweet caramel / crystal malts with sugary fruits and a big bitter resiny, almost charred, hop finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with low carbonation and is a bit watery.

Overall, it's not well blended - very sweet, extract-like with a big bitter finish. (497 characters)

Look: Two and a half fingers of creamy almost pinkish head dissipates slowly to about a half finger ring around the glass. Bubbly lacing. Clear copper in color. Light carbonation.

Smell: Caramel malt backbone. Pretty resinous. A little citrus, not quite grapefruit.

Taste: Malt forward. Caramel and some bread. Hops are a little understated and piney. This is far more malt dominant. Reminds me more of an English IPA.

Feel: Oily. Lightly carbonated. Half-dry finish.

Overall: I really like English style IPA's so I'm a bit of a sucker. It probably gets a slightly higher score if it gets categorized as such. Not very balanced and is marketed as a "Dank" earthy resinous IPA and that falls a little flat. Worth a shot especially if you enjoy English IPAs (759 characters)

Poured on tap into a stemless like wine glass at Prost brewing company, from notes of Jan 2013. Originally entered under Prost brewing.

A real brown ruby gorgeous amber body color. Faint tan colored head with a creamy top presented with about a finger of head. Lacing coats in rings all over. This looks like a real jewel.

Nose is full of dank earthy tones. Bready malt escapes between the hop front quite a bit nicely.

Palate is rich in caramel and hop juice earth. Super chewy malts and green hops. Finishes with light caramel sweetness and balanced hop action. Earthy pine just whsipers on the breath when finishing.

Overall reminds me of a good balanced Deviant Dale's Ale. Delicious stuff. (700 characters)

Bought at Trader Joes in a 4-pack for New Years Eve, I saved one to rate.

Very lively transparent (but clouds when the final bit goes in) yellow orange colored beer. Fizzy foamy white head pours about two fingers and leaves good lacing as it resides a bit. Good balance between citrus hops and malts.

Citrus centered hop profile. With some citrus forward IPA you don't always get that bitter punch at the end, but this one is just fine in that category. Medium body and on the low side of medium carbonation.

Overall: I really like this beer. A great example of a well balanced, delicious IPA. Will most likely purchase again. One of my favorite Colorado IPAs. (664 characters)

Poured in to a tulip. 1 finger, white head. Slighty hazy, copper colored body.

Aroma was floral with some citrus and ofcourse some danky hop aroma. A bit caramely and malty with some biscuity/bready notes.

Taste was floral and citrusy upfront. Maltyness followed the fairly intense hop flavors with some malty, caramely notes. A bit bready. Slightly sweet, which helped the hop flavors. Finish was resiny and piney. Definitely some danky hop qualities. Mellow bitterness for the amount of hop flavors and finish.

Mouthfeel was medium body, medium car and a slightly sticky, resiny finish.

Good beer overall. Pleasant amount of hop flavors and sweetness. Well rounded and balanced. (685 characters)

A- Deep pumpkin orange with light, light auburn hue when held to the light. Soft, small white head that disappears rather quickly. Spider web builds on the top of the beer, light lacing on the glass. The head was uninspiring, but the color is magnificent.

S- The name describes the aroma, DANK. Light floral notes with some bright citrus. Big old pine notes dominate the hop aroma. There is just the slightest touch of some sweet malt in there. Pretty good, reminds me of the aroma from Odell IPA.

T- The taste is good. Piney hops jump off first followed by some light grapefruit. Maybe a little caramel in the back end. Smal lingering hop flavor. The flavor comes up a little short of the aroma, but not bad. No booze detectable. Not much bitterness.

M- Light, crisp, and higher in carbonation. Lighter in body. Carbonation opens up the hop aroma but almost makes this beer a little to "bubbly".

O- This is a good IPA. To be honest, this is better than i expected, not sure why. The bitterness is a little low for an IPA and it might be a little over carbonated, but the "dank" character is fitting and makes for a delicious hop-centric brew. (1,148 characters)
