The beer pours a beautiful golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is excellent. It has a crisp and refreshing pale and Carapils malt scent along with an awesome floral/citrus hop nose. The taste is great! It has a light and bitter flavor that's smooth drinking with a citrus/floral hop finish. It's a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is damn fine IPA that's not overly complex, but has excellent hop character. (472 characters)

Slightly hazy orange color with a big rocky off-white head that leaves gobs of foam (really too much to call lacing!). A careful pour is needed to avoid pouring a whole glass of foam.

Light citrus aroma leads into a fresh tangerine flavor. Juicy and tasty. Maybe a hint of papaya. The finish is quick but spicy with a bit of a pine note.

Juicy medium-light body with refreshing carbonation and a dry finish. The is a tasty brew that disappears quickly - very drinkable! It is slightly thin in body and one-note on the citrus character, but all in all, a very tasty and drinkable IPA. (587 characters)

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a nonic.

A: Pours a clear light amber colour. 2 fingers of dense white head. Good retention and moderate lacing.

S: I'm getting a decent amount of caramel malt and citrusy hops. Smell sticks around for the whole glass. Doesnt fade.

T: Carmel malt up front and nice balance of citrus and floral hops. Very nice balance between malt and hops here. Slightly bitter finish with some lingering hop presence.

M: Moderate to thin body with moderate carbonation. Slick feel overall.

Overall I was quite surprised with this beer. A very nicely balanced IPA. A definite repeat purchase here. (617 characters)

A: Pours copper with a nice thick creamy head thats lasts throughout the whole beer.

S: Grapefruitness, bread and mild spice.

T:Great hop character. Really blends perfectly with the beer. Not to overpowering but present. Bready, biscuity characters blend nicely with a subtle sweetness.

M: Carbed up pretty good. Smooth and crisp. Delightfully refreshing.

O: Good beer. Since I live about 20 miles from Nanticoke and never heard of these guys I figured what the hell. Stands up well to other East Coasts IPA IE: Flower Power, Nugget Nectar. Really a great beer. (565 characters)

Bought this at Antonio's in Nanticoke, PA. Pours a very clear copper: white head on top : smell of CITRA hops: with bitter hoppiness. IPA the way it's SUPPOSED to be! Great job, Benny Brew Co! Looking forward to a double IPA from you in the future. (248 characters)

I picked this beer up at Krugel’s a week ago which a pretty sweet beer store. The Hopenstien is a nice golden amber color and the heads mounts up beautifully. The nose is a rich blend of malt and hops and lowkey in intensity. I like the flavor of this beer and, for all the hops, is well balanced. The finish trends toward hoppy. It seems a bit stronger than 6.5%. This would be an interesting beer on draft. (410 characters)

I had a pint of this new brew ($5.00) post-lunch at the Georgetown Deli on 26JAN11.

Standard pint glass was brimming with a clear, medium-copper liquid. Head was light tan, tight and fine, and lasted quite well while producing lovely lacing. Aroma was inviting, with a solid amount of rindy grapefruit. Body was the standard, middle of the road medium, with a fairly smooth tongue feel.

Flavor led with a touch of toast, but hops soon took over and dominated. There was lots of grapefruit here, with ever-so-subtle smidges of pear and green apple. Lots of rindy, pithy action ensued, with a touch of pine. Top-shelf stuff for a new brewery! Prosit!!
