Bottled 11/17/15; drank 4/17/16 @ the Yarchives.
Muddy brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small tan head; strong lace.
Creamed coffee & acorn notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Creamed coffee & acorn flavors up front; mild hop bite on the finish.
A simple, drinkable porter; not overly memorable but will do in a pinch.

Dark brown pour, looks black in the glass, a finger of foam and lasting skim, minor lacing.
Roasty aroma with a light fruity twang, something seems slightly amiss.
Taste is roasty but lightly tart and astringent, telltale signs of an infection.
The astringent sharpness isn't a complete dealbreaker, but it's a little off putting.
Overall, i'd try it again on draft, would avoid the bottles of unknown age on store shelves.
Noticing a trend with UC's dark beers, i've had a few infected ones now unfortunately.

Nose or caramel and roasted malts. Hint of coffee. Nice head on the pour. Dark cloudy color. Tastes of roasted malts with notes of coffee and chocolate. Very clean finish. Overall a decent beer but I've had better porters.

A. Dark brown and 80% opaque. Very little head that subsides quickly.
S. Mostly just roasted malt. Slight metallic.
T. Nice deep roast flavor. Even a little smoke almost. Aftertaste of a low IBU hop.
F. Pretty smooth. Not very thick. Kinda prickly. Clean finish. Prob best part of the beer.
O. Not a bad beer. As I rate i'm really analyzing and some of the ratings aren't bad but aren't great. When it comes down to it tho this is a decent very drinkable beer.

Pours an effervescent a chestnut tinged mahogany with 2+ fingers of tan head. Great head retention & lacing
S: Coffee (faint), even fainter woody hops,
T: Coffee & carob up front, some woody hops as well. Dryness & coffee as this warms, a little vanilla as well. Finishes with woody hops, faint coffee grinds, dry & slight caramel sweetness
MF: Medium body, fairly lively carbonation, carbonation smooths out as this warms, thins out a touch too
Drinks fairly easy, a solid English Porter, Not going to replace Founders Porter in my rotation, but perhaps worth a go
