The STLIPA was a decent beer from Chestnut. The beer poured a hazy orange with white head that did not leave a lace. The scent was of fresh hops with slight citrus lean. The taste was bolstered by a sweet malt base that had bitter hops present throughout. The beer reminded me more of an English style than west coast style. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall the beer is good....not the best IPA I've ever had but certainly worth a try.

A- very hazy pale orange with moderate head and fairly impressive lacing. Aggressive carbonation shows in the glass.
S- kind of boring, light generic hops smell and not much else. Worrisome on the smell--might be stale, but I doubt it from this bottle shop. If there's a date code, I can't find it.
T- much better on the taste, so I doubt it's stale. Flavor of fresh grapefruit hops dominates with light resin flavors. Bitterness lingers nicely. Very light on the malts, like a west coast IPA. Not very yeasty at all.
M- as I mentioned in the appearance section, heavy carbonation. Not overdone, just on the high side--I like that for an IPA. Fairly light body.
Overall a good beer, and not exactly the style I was expecting. A nice one to have opened at 3 pm. Recommended for day drinking, spicy food, and the World Cup.

Poured on draft in St Louis while watching the USA World Cup match.
A: Hazy golden amber with soapy one finger off white head that left some sticky lacing.
S: Pine resin, grapefruit, and some faint pineapple.
T: Light citrus, honey, orange peel, and some bready malts.
M: Full bodied but not heavy leaving some hop oils on the tongue.
O: Good basic DIPA. I would grab a pint whenever I'm in the area.
