Swirl it, waft it, now close your eyes and think strawberry. Ahhh! There it is! And yes, it is subtle, but the “beeren” in the weissbier provide a soft aroma and light sweetness on the tongue. The addition of strawberry to this wheat beer makes for a wonderfully refreshing summer ale.

I've got to say I am incredibly disappointed in this beer! I wasn't expecting great things as I saw the rating before drinking it, but it's a strawberry berliner weisse, how bad can it be right? REALLY FREAKING BAD! Both smells and tastes like nailpolish remover! Nearly undrinkable, and I drainpoured it after a few ounces were downed just to try to get a rating out of it!

Light brown in color with a hazy complexion and a half inch of off white head. Moderate lacing. Aroma is of slightly off putting artificial strawberries. I taste tart artificial strawberry and a copper to metallic horrid flavor. The mouth is moderately carbonated.

16oz bottle. Poured out a pale golden-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left some thin lacing on the glass. It smelled of wheat, yeast and sweet strawberries. Nice cracked wheat taste with yeastiness and some sweet strawberry taste. Light bodied beer.

Pours an effervescent & hazed amber with 2+ fingers of pearl white head. Stays effervescent, stellar head retention & lacing
S: Plenty of strawberry, a little pear & peach as well
T: Strawberry & graininess, some pear up front. White grapes & a little graininess, a little peach & just a little tartness & dryness as this warms, more strawberry. Finishes with slight graininess, strawberries, a little peach & slight tartness
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation
Drinks easy, but nothing to get excited about here, not totally thrilled I have another bottle to drink

16.9oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
A: Tawny colored and cloudy. Huge rocky white head retains very well. Lacing is very sticky.
S: Pureed strawberries on top of wheaty and shortcake aromas. Yeast. Perhaps the faintest whiff of grassy hops far in the background.
T: Tart and juicy strawberry flavors all over the joint. Yeasty undercurrents. Bread and wheat. Toasty. Crust. Pepper and clove underneath. Bready and wheaty finish.
M: Light-medium body. Full, frothy, and creamy. Gently scrubbing carbonation.
O: I know a lot of beer geeks out there are quick to write off 'fruit beers,' and I get it. We've all been burned by bland, unimaginative, or downright artificial tasting wheat-based fruit beers many times in the past. However, every once in a while one comes along that makes me happy that I took the chance and popped the cap. This is one of those beers. The strawberry aroma and flavor is natural and memorable, and it really pops. The base beer brings more to the table too, with a good amount of hearty Weizen character. A far cry from the usual neutral and bland wheat base that makes my eyes glaze over in boredom. What looked to be the weakest link in the variety pack is not looking so weak anymore. This was an enjoyable brew.
