I had this beer on tap at the brewery and picked up a bottle for the review, to have at home. It's a dark brown beer, capped with a white head. The aroma is meticulously malty, with an underlying lager scent. The taste is moderately sweet, with lots of bread-crust and toasted notes. Full in body, full in flavor, and slightly warming. Excellent.

Hazy russet amber, some khaki foam initially, minimal spotty lacing.
Aroma is rich and inviting, crusty dark bread, raisins and caramel sweetness.
Taste is much the same, largely derived from caramelized sugars and yeast esters.
Some light bitterness in the dry finish, some rich sweetness up front. Caramel and bread,
Full bodied, though supple and drinkable. Carbonation ebbs slightly.
Overall, this is a solid Doppelbock, glad to have tried it.
Have some apple brats soaking in it now...

Amber colored with excellent clarity and tiny, vibrant carbonation bubbles keep rising to the top. There's a fingernail of beige on top. Light Brussels lacing. Aroma is of rich, pure, dark malt. I taste plenty of lush, earthy, pure, amber malt. The mouth is lightly chewy and sticky.

16oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber with hints of ruby and a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of toffee, sweet breads and clove. Malty and roasty with a late building sweetness. Nice bittering balance.

Any time I get to try a new Doppel, I am happy...
Pours an effervescent orange/auburn with 2 fingers of tan head. Above average head retention & lacing
S: Figgy & breadyness, juicy fruit
T: Breadyness, a little dryness, woody & leafy hops, a little bit of figgyness, plus a little cakeyness up front. A little bit of pear, a bit of boozey bite & woody hops once warm, some taffy notes. finishes with woody hops, figs, & faint breadyness
MF: Medium body, firm carbonation
Not a pure dopple, has a little weizen character to it. Not bad, but must knock it down a little for not being true to the style. Still I would drink it no problem
