The very specific purpose of our first coffee-bier collaboration was to unequivocally break the convention of traditional heavy-roasted, dark coffee beers. To do this we’ve taken a berry-nosed and earthy Brazilian coffee (Sertãozinho) and merged it with a traditional, clove and banana-estered, Bavarian Wheat Beer (Weissbier). The result – a stimulating infusion marked by overtones of sweet and tart fruit balanced by a subtle-but-not-bitter roast of rich tannins.

Pours a cloudy, golden/copper color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smell of coffee, sweet malt, hint of pale malt, hops, hint of nut, and a hint of roasted malt. Fits the style of a Hefeweizen. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of coffee, slight nut, hint of sweet malt, hint of pale malt, and hint of hops. The coffee is so dominate that other flavors are hard to discern.

This one pours a lighter bodied, very cloudy and almost milky apricot orange in color with a slight white lacing around the glass. The nose features moderate fresh coffee bean upfront. It is followed by typical German yeast characteristics with a touch of corn, that I'm not too fond of. The flavors echo the aromas. The coffee hits first and isn't overpowering. It is then followed by light clove and banana yeasty esters. It leaves a touch of coffee behind in the after taste. It drinks medium in body and is perhaps a touch over carbonated. Overall this is an interesting beer but not one that I would revisit.

This quite unique beer thanks to Lukahn (Reddit). Not sure what made them decide to add coffee to a wheat beer, but we'll see. Could be interesting, could be terrible.
Pours a small light fizzy head that barely covers the top more like a huge abv beer or sour style, hint of lacing, hazy pale wheat orange colored typical wheat beer.
Nose starts with fresh roasted coffee beans, super freshly roasted but a light roast, nutty, peanut like, little caramel, etc. Then hint of wheat, light grassy hay like aromas, faint hint of citrus.
Taste starts with a weird mix of sweeteners wheat and coffee, with a sugar daddy flavor to start, light toffee caramel, candy corn, and peanuts, kinda weird. Then light coffee, little earthy bit lighter roast fresh roasted and grind coffee with a light bitterness. The coffee is a mild overall in harshness but a good flavor, no acrid bitterness or tannins, etc. Behind that, trailing behind and barely making a dent is the wheat, as expected, with light wheat flavors, hint of citrus and earthy hay like flavor, little dusty. It does bring a light banana and estery flavor but not much. Finish is drier but still slightly sticky, lingering coffee, nutty, candy corn and sugar daddy again, and little citrus.
Mouth is med to lighter bodied, plenty of carb for typical wheat.
Overall quite a unique beer. They score points for originality, but there's a reason there aren't really any other coffee infused weiss beers out there, as the wheat and beer characters are almost completely drowned out by the coffee, sweet and nutty flavors, and what does come out from the weiss doesn't blend to well with the other flavors. That being said, it's still an interesting beer to try, and has its moments of tastiness. Although, they picked a pretty good coffee to blend in this as it didn't bring harshness of most coffee, and was a nice drinkable overall in all aspects. Glad to try it once but doubt I would get it again.

Poured from a 16.7 ounce bottle courtesy of a family member visiting from the STL area.
A - This one was an odd creamy brown color, with the haze expected of a hefe, but the head was not as fluffy as most and dissipated quickly.
S - The aroma hinted at a coffee shop smell underneath the banana.
T - The flavor was much the same as what I expected from the aroma, but a bit weaker.
M - Unfortunately (and inexplicably), I did not take note of the mouthfeel, but I do remember it being smooth and easy drinking.
O - I really enjoyed this beer. I was very skeptical of the coffee-infused hefe concept, and this was my first experience with Urban Chestnut, so that added to my low expectations. Much to my surprise, this was a very good brew. I'd like to see more of these 'enlightenment series' products.

Kaldi's Coffee Sertãozinho Weiss - Urban Chestnut Brewing
Bottle into tulip
A – A hazed golden yellow amber brew had a single finger head that left OK lacing while it quickly reduced 3
S – A light fruit sweetness, toasty wheat, different notes of coffee, and a slight acidic scent 4
T – Light fruitness with the weiss background, a mild spice/coffee zip, a bit tangy, very interesting and balanced, less sure that I’m really enjoying it other than its weiss/coffee novelty 3.5
M – Light beer with a medium body, easy drinking, light to moderate carbonation 3
O – An unusual beer you should try, not inclined to have another, but a tasty and interesting brew that combines atypical elements 3.5

This one too at a tasting at my local brew store.
This is an experimentation beer and deserves full marks for the distinct taste it creates. I like coffee notes and may be i am a little biased here.
Pours regular wheat beer like. Good head about two fingers thick. Pale straw to golden color. Decent head retention.
Smell is a lot like coffee and that too very distinct roasted coffee. Fruity notes of clove and banana are little subdued.
Taste is distinctly more pronounced coffee flavor balancing sweetness of wheat. Some clove is discernible.
Easy on palate with slight tartness overcome by coffee. Medium bodied feel with relatively less carbonation compared to a weissbier.
Good brew.
Style wise it score a 4 and otherwise a 3.5

Pours a hazy dark golden color with a patchy eggshell head of foam that leaves some spotty lacing as it recedes.
The aroma begin with the traditional Weissbier yeast and malt smells; it has bananas, clove, rich tangy wheat. As it warms the Kaldis coffee notes emerge more and more to complement the wheat malt and yeast notes.
The flavor begins much like the aroma, but has more coffee. The base beer Weiss flavors of banana, wheat and clove are still present but are complemented by the coffee tanin flavors. Really a balance of base beer and coffee.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with crisp medium to high carbonation. The finish crisp and dry some light tangy wheat mellow bitter coffee.
Overall I expected this beer to be a disaster, but it really worked. You would think the coffee would overpower a low ABV Weissbier but it truely does not. It only works to complement the flavors and add a new dynamic flavor profile unlike anything I have ever sampled. What's next a coffee Wit or a coffee Wild Ale, who knows...
