Cascabel Taqueria is a Taquieria that opened about a year and a half ago and quickly outgrew it's first space because it was so popular. They moved down the block and are still packed a lot.

There is a bar to the right as you walk in and a number of counters and tables to the right. There are a couple of large TVs that are usually showing some sport. At their old location they showed Lucha Libre which I suppose didn't really go over very well. The owners are definitely hipsterish and I guess they realized that Lucha Libre may work in an area like Williamsburg but not the UES.

Beer wise they are focused on craft beer which is not common in Mexican restaurants. They have about 8 or so drafts with only one macro (Dos Equis). Usually they have a Captain Lawrence offering, a Sixpoint, Slyfox, amongst other small regional breweries.

The bartneders and servers are alright but they aren't beer experts. Service has run the gamut of great to mildly disinterested (which can be expected of hipsters).

The food though is very good. Their tacos are excellent, the Lengua and the shrimp are my two favourites. These come two to an order. They also have some good salads and some side dishes like the quinoa and black beans.

Beers are $6 which is standard for the area. Food prices are moderate as well.

I wouldn't say this is a beer destination but it is a much needed good restaurant which serves a nice selection of craft in a neighbourhood with few choices.
