Pours brown with deep amber hues around the bottom and a slim tan head that reduced to a thin film, leaving spotty lace about the glass. Aroma is Toffee, caramel and a hint of banana. Taste is malty with caramel and raisins, dried apricots and butterscotch. Mouthfeel is fairly thick syrup like texture with a slight bitterness.

Thanks for FooFaa for sharing a growler on 2/21/11.
A - Emerged from the growler as a bronzed muddy brown liquid with deep amber hues around the bottom and a slim tan head that reduced to a thin film, leaving spotty lace about the glass.
S - Dark fruit tang with a hint of banana, toffee, caramel and a slight waft of alcohol. Aroma is quite sweet overall. I also get quite a bit of butterscotch and Belgian candi sugar as well.
T - Initial flavor is quite malty with lots of toffee, caramel and plenty of dark fruit reminiscent of raisin, prune and dried apricot. There is also a very faint earthy hop presence. Finishes with a sweet butterscotch character.
M - Medium to full bodied with a very thick, syrupy texture and modest carbonation. Sweet, sticky finish with muted bitterness on the palate.
D - Pretty solid first effort from these newbies on the Central PA beer scene, though I liked the aroma a bit more than the actual flavor. This could probably use a bit more carbonation and less sweetness. Otherwise, not too bad at all.
