12 oz can poured into a plastic cup. This is a sweet, boozy old-school DIPA with notes of caramel malt and citrus (grapefruit zest especially). It comes across as somewhat harsh and unbalanced, but not undrinkable by any means. The color is surprisingly light with a quickly fading head. This was a very fresh can, so perhaps it mellows/rounds out after a few weeks.

Soap suds for a head. Hazy yellow body. Fruity aroma. Taste is nicely balanced, a touch sweet and a touch of bitter. Decent DIPA

Two 12 oz. cans poured into a clear glass liter mug should suffice to learn about this one. Can't say this is a feast for the eyes. It's a bright and light amber, pretty close to translucent. The head is modest, but by its movement inside the glass, it's obvious that the glass lacing will be better. The aroma is so much better. Bold hops appear, sharp and bitter to the nose. Proving the nose usually knows better than the eye about taste is this exhibit A. This is a delicious DIPA. All the sweet malt any lover of the true IPA could want, contrasted by a full, but light, hoppy bitterness. It's a classical IPA taste voyage, as initially the sweet malt is picked up by the tongue. Mid-taste, the hops introduce themselves, then dominate the finish. Slightly sweeter than perfect; nonetheless, there's a little earthiness to counterbalance the sweet. The hops that end up ruling the taste are resinous, yet finish cleanly. They are bitter enough to contend with the sweetness of the malt and satisfy almost any hophead. Enough of the 8.5% ABV ends up contributing to the overall taste, again, as it should in a DIPA. It's contributing, not distracting. This is a wonderful brew. There was a pleasant lineage of glass lace.
That of 3/21/21, probably after tasting too many over-starched brews. A revisit on 3/30/21 corrects the original overly enthusiastic review now more accurately. There is more alcohol to the taste and mouthfeel than first described, at least upon this visit. The ratings have thusly been adjusted.

On tap @ St. Boniface. Man. I really wanted to like this beer. DIPA. Bring them on. Libation. I keep sniffing and tasting and it's not coming through. Best beer color I've ever seen. I'm ready to design a logo around it. But as for taste, it's a miss for me. Smell. Neither the traditional grapefruit or anything citrusy. Nothing bad, but nothing that makes me want another. Some days are diamonds, some days are stone.

Draft at Luca in Lancaster, PA. Pours a fairly clear golden amber with a thin off white head. Initial impression favors the caramel malts, with grapefruit and orange taking a back seat. Mouthfeel is medium and fairly clean; carbonation is perfect. Finish is malty and predominantly sweet, although with citrus notes. Overall, enjoyable and very drinkable, but not memorable.
