12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a semi-hazy golden color. There's about one fingers worth of rocky, white-colored head. It actually has slightly better retention than I expected, and leaves some lacing behind.

S: One has to really bury their nose in order to find the aroma. Some faint lemon exists along side a touch of pale malt, with little else. Nothing is really bad about its nose...but neither is there much good.

T: There's a better showing here on the taste. It starts off with some faint noble hop bitterness, quickly growing into a sweet (and actually slightly juicy) lemony finish. Touches of apricot and peach also exist; also somewhat like sweet tea at times. This is the best part of the brew, even if it's a touch too sweet at times.

M: Way too astringent. Of course, that means it's nice and dry, but I could do without it choking my tongue into submission. In spite of that, it's light weight, well carbonated, and easy to drink.

O: This wouldn't be my first choice for a pilsner. If I saw this in a fresher state, I'd pounce on it more easily. It's at least held up well for it to still be decent as is.

5/24….pours a pale dirty gold with high white foam. Citrus nose, lemons and rinds. Sweet hoppyness, light pils flavor. Czech pils nailed. Perfect for the style.

My nephew brought a growler of this up to Lancaster this weekend along with one of the Wit. It's a very pretty beer in the glass; a slightly hazy gold with a generous head that scattered into lacing. The beer is actively generating a nice stream of bubbles. The aroma is not the best characteristic of this beer but is malty and pleasant. I liked the flavor which is well balanced and not assertive. There is a decent, lingering finish that tends toward the hoppy. The conditioning is very good, just enough to perk up one's thirst quenching but not enough to crowd the subtle pilsner flavors. A good beeer to drink while writing on the porch.

Draft poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, cloudy, golden yellow color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Very aromatic, with very strong aromas of bready, toasted malt, imparting notes of freshly toasted French baguettes or English muffins. I also get notes of caramel, black pepper, and lots of grassy, citrusy, herbal floral aromas.

Taste: Very nice! Lots of bready, toasted malt flavors up front, imparting some biscuity, pretzel-like flavors, followed by some orange and lemon-like citrus, spices of black pepper, cilantro, coriander, some caramel-like sweetness, finished with a touch of grassy, slightly piney hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and creamy, as there is very little carbonation. With an ABV of 4.8%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: I’m not a real fan of pilsners, as I usually find them to be too hoppy and harsh. That being said, I really, really, really like Port City’s Downright Pilsner. It’s beautifully balanced between malt and hops, is very refreshing and is absolutely delicious!

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a nice presence of malt, grass, caramel and citrus.
Appearance- This beer is a murky golden yellow color with a small white head.
Taste- Has a great toasted malt flavor with a bready aftertaste.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with low carbonation, has a creamy to oily texture.
Overall- A nice pilsner, that is well balanced.

Poured from the bottle into a pilsner style glass.

Really nice looking pilsner here, a huge column of rising uniform pinhead bubbles, all lining up and dancing through an eighteen karat gold body. Head is a real nice clumpy bright white, with some staying power, the beer looks very inviting.

Real nice bready malts, with a big and controled hop floral action it seems. There's a little bit of woody smoke in this which is really odd but I seem to dig it. So far looking forward to this.

Dang what happened? Palate hits, but there's just nothing really going on. Mid palate doesn't really fill with anything, no sweetness, no malt taste, it feels completely empty. Finish has some mild hop bitter taste, and some slight bread dough. Mouthfeel is solid for a nice density in German territory, but the palate just doesn't come forward.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment compared to most German pilsners I've had, but an ok beer.

A: The beer is relatively dark yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a patch of bubbles in the center, a collar around the edge, and a thin film in between along with some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grainy malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of bready hops along with notes of grainy malts and floral hops, the latter of which contributes a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is some dryness in the finish.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has a good balance between the malts and hops. There's nothing overly interesting about the taste, but it would make for a good beer to pair with food.

The beer pours a nice bubbly and foamy white head that last quite a bit and leaves some decent lacing. The beer itself is a nice medium gold and clear.

A strong bitter and floral with a nice pine hop note with a nice pale malt smell that is overpowered by the hops.

The hops are a fairly bitter and come out strong into a lemon and orange (citrus) finish. The malts have a slight role that is barely noticeable but still manage to show up.

Medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish.

Much better. Probably worth picking up every now and then.
