A gruit-inspired brew that pays homage to the classic taste Americans know and love. The new ginger ale has “a high intensity of ginger and lemon, a tinge of black currant, and a light sweetened flavor with woody attributes.”

To all the people judging this as you would judge a beer, this is supposed to emulate a ginger ale. It doesn’t taste even the slightest bit like beer. It tastes like a really good ginger ale. Not the best ginger ale, but pretty up there. If you’re on the fence because you love ginger ale but you see all the negative reviews: of course it doesn’t have a head, no ginger ale maintains a head for more than 30 seconds. Of course it’s very light in color, most ginger ales are. Of course it’s heavy on ginger, that’s the point. Of course it’s sweet, it’s pretty much a soda (in terms of sodas, this is less sweet than most big name ginger ales). Of course it tastes more like a soda than a beer, that’s the whole idea. It’s emulating a classic type of soda. None of these things are negatives. They’re all the point of the drink.

Poured from A 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is well. . . ginger ale with a small white head. The aroma is, shocker ginger. The goal was to 've a hard ginger ale, they succeeded.

Honestly, I don’t know what there is to complain about. I was hoping for something that tasted like ginger ale (soft drink) but with an alcohol content and that’s exactly what I got.
It tastes more like a soft drink than beer ( without being too too sweet )...which is what I was hoping for in this beverage ( as opposed to something that is trying to be two things and fails at being good at either of them ). This is the first “beer” that I have rated. I would not say it blew me away, but earned mostly high ratings across the board because I certainly wouldn’t change much. It is fine as is, but if anything were to change without annoying me, It could possibly have a fuller mouth-feel, (but at some point it would be described as syrupy if there were too much body). There is a slightly “off” aftertaste but no alcohol burn or flavor. I am drinking this in winter but would imagine that one might have to be careful if drinking in summer because they go down so smoothly. About as good as Reeds soft drink ginger ale with an added alcohol benefit. I will definitely be buying this again. (And look forward to trying their other products). I have to research this product a little bit more and will be disappointed if this is simply a flavored malt beverage type of concoction. I will be overjoyed if it is more or less a traditionally brewed product. I’m still a little on the fence as to the price point, but then again I’m pretty cheap!

12 ounce bottle into pin glass, bottled on 6/27/2016. Pours crystal clear pale golden/yellow color with a small foamy white head that reduces to nothing nearly instantly. No lacing on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big lemon, lime, ginger, currant, vanilla, honey, cracker, candi sugar, and herbal earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of citrus/spices and pale/sugary malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, ginger, currant, vanilla, honey, cracker, candi sugar, and herbal earthiness. Slight peppery ginger spice and herbal bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, ginger, currant, vanilla, honey, cracker, candi sugar, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of citrus/spices and pale/sugary malt flavors; with a nice malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Moderate dryness from carbonation and bitter/spiciness as well. Slightly increasing ginger heat through the glass. High carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly grainy/syrupy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.9%. Overall this is a very nice ginger spice beer. All around nice robustness and balance of citrus/spices and pale/sugary malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Still kind of feels like a beer with some grainy/malt presence, vs some of their other flavored beverages I’ve tried. Never overly sweet, syrupy, or heavy feeling. A very enjoyable offering.

Not really a beer at all even though it tries to pass off as one for some reason, it's way too sweet and sugary/syrupy to be a beer and for my tastes.
