Served in a flared pokal at Bliss.

Finally getting a taste of a new Small Town brew. Arrrrgh! It pours a murky tawny-amber topped by a finger or so of cream foam. As with most Small Town beers, a lovely Guinness-style cascade effect is witnessed. The nose comprises cherry, fiberboard, light caramel, light plum, red apple skin, red grapes, cinnamon, clove, dark fruits, and spiced rum. Basically, imagine a flamboyant pirate ship scene in a movie (preferably back in the good ol' early Technicolor days...): this beer smells like that. Just like the nose, the tongue experiences so many different flavors. Everything already mentioned returns, along with some nutmeg, ginger, orange zest, brown sugar, honey, molasses, and a touch of nuts. There's so much to take in, and it's hard to really describe how everything mixes and melds across the 'buds. Suffice it to say, it tastes good. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation, a sorta grainy feel, and a kinda dry finish. Overall, a very complex and very enjoyable brew that I hope to see around the area a bit more in the near future.
