Served in a snifter at The Firkin.

Great to see the Small Town brews at a place like the Firk! This one pours a murky russet-sienna topped by a finger of tan foam. The nose comprises caramel, brown sugar, light cranberry, brown sugar, nutmeg, clove, light mandarin orange syrup, light graham cracker, light ruby red grapefruit zest, honey, and light biscuit. The taste brings in more of the same, along with dry oak, light white grape skin, and a touch of spiced rum. There is a helluva lot goin' on in here... The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a lightly grainy feel. Overall, a nicely complex brew, one that embodies a Pollock-style expression of Christmas in all its beer-y glory. Given the choice between this and Great Lakes, I'm going with Small Town every time...
